First start by looking inside the cars fuse box, there should be a fuse named "ROOM". Take it out and check if its still good. If not replace with the same amp fuse.

The horn chirp can be disable by pressing the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously until the hazard lights flash, and no enable press the lock and unlock until the horn chirp.
To reprogram (enter new ID) key fob (keyless remote controller) follow the steps.
1. Close all doors and lock all doors
2. Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder more than six times within 10 seconds. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash.) NOTE: Key should be withdrawn from ignition key cylinder completely each time.
NOTE: Do not rush the insertion/removal key cycling process. The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is accurately completed.
3. Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase.
4. Press any button on the new remote controller once. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash)
NOTE: Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful. The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is accurately completed and programming is successful.
If there is only one remote controller skip step 5.
5. Additional ID code entry Release the door lock, then lock again with door lock/unlock switch (In power window main switch)
6. Remove key from ignition
7. Unlock driver side door, open driver side door and then close the door. (END)

Door lights will not go out.

Spray a lot of WD-40 or Blaster in the latches on the inside rear of each door. Most likely the drivers door is the issue because it sees the most use. There is a switch on the interior side of the latch that gets stuck. If that does not work, it is possible the GEM module has failed. I believe I have a couple of these if you need one, but usually the switch sticks open (on or depressed and it's normally closed) on the driver door.
Illuminated Entry Illuminated entry is included as a function of the generic electronic module (GEM). The illuminated entry system may be activated in the following three ways:
  • Raise the outside door handle (22404).
  • Press a code button on the keyless entry keypad (14A626).
  • Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601).
Electrical flow through the system is as follows:
  • An interior lamp switch (13752) mounted on the front door latch (21812) closes, completing the circuit of the GEM. This switches the system ON.
  • This illumination will remain on for approximately 25 seconds and then automatically turn OFF.
  • During this 25 second period, the system can be deactivated by turning the ignition switch (11572) to RUN position, locking the doors with the keyless entry remote transmitter or keyless entry keypad or by battery saver time out.
  • The system will turn on every time the outside door handles are operated.
  • Opening the front doors (20124) or rear doors (24630) from the inside of the vehicle will not turn on the system.
  • If the outside door handle is held up so that the interior lamp switch is continuously closed, the system will operate as normal and turn off after 25 seconds.
  • If the door handle is still in the raised position, the system will remain off and it will be impossible to activate the system from the other front door handle until the raised door handle is returned to its normal position.
  • This is built into the logic circuitry of the system to prevent battery discharge should the outside door handle be propped up or become jammed in any way.
The system consists of:
  • generic electronic module (GEM).
  • interior lamp switch.
  • wiring harness.
The GEM is mounted directly to the fuse junction panel (14A067) The interior lamp switch is retained to the front door latch by a keyed slot and is twisted into position.

Programming instructions for keyless remote Does anyone have the programming instructions for 1998 honda passport keyless remote (FCC #HYQ1512R)?

Get into your passport and unlock all doors. Leave drivers door open. Put key into ignition. Turn to ON (not start), then OFF three times within 5 seconds. Close and open the drivers door twice. Turn key to ON then OFF 5 times within 5 seconds. Close then open the drivers door. Press either the lock or unlock button on the remote. Doors will lock then unlock. Press the button again. Doors will lock then unlock again. Close door to finish programming. If it doesnt work, try it again but turn the key faster. You have to do it all pretty quick, but I had it done on the second try.

Replaced the alternator, now anti theft won't disable

The ignition lock anti-theft switch (19A438) detects if the ignition key cylinder is broken or "slam pulled" during a theft. The ignition lock anti-theft switch is always monitored by the remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module. This allows the alarm system to be triggered in the case that the ignition lock anti-theft switch detects tampering of the ignition key cylinder (even in the event that the alarm is not active at the time).
Refer to the Section 501-14B for more details on the keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601).
The door open warning lamp switch (14018) communicates to the RAP module through the generic electronic module (GEM). This input to the RAP will cause the anti-theft alarm to be sounded if the anti-theft alarm was armed.
The door disarm switches are assembled into both LH and RH lock sets. The door disarm switch must be triggered before the mechanical lock unlocks. This is to prevent the anti-theft alarm from activating when it should have been disarmed.
The RAP module controls the anti-theft system and is the brains of the keyless entry system. The RAP module communicates with the GEM to request that the interior lights be turned ON/OFF with use of the keyless entry remote transmitter, and the GEM communicates to the RAP to inform when the door is opened. Refer to Section 418-00 for inter-module communication.
The RAP module has three wire connectors attached to it:
  • The antenna for the keyless entry remote transmitter.
  • 26 circuit connector (C256).
  • 22 circuit connector (C257).
In addition to the perimeter alarm that uses the door open warning lamp switch, the RAP module also uses the ignition lock anti-theft switch and the autolock/relock feature to prevent theft of the vehicle. For a full description of the autolock/relock system, refer to Section 501-14B .
The THEFT LED is found on the instrument panel between the tachometer scale and the needle pivot point. The LED is illuminated during prearming and flashes when armed or triggered.
Prearming and Arming the System
The system can be armed if:
  • The ignition is OFF.
  • The PANIC alarm is OFF.
  • All doors are closed.
There are two ways to prearm the system:
  • Press the LOCK button on the transmitter.
  • Open a door, press the power door lock button and close the door.
After 30 seconds the system will be armed and the theft indicator in the cluster will flash every two seconds.
Disarming an Untriggered System
An armed system will be disarmed with one of these valid actions:
  1. Pressing the UNLOCK button on the transmitter.
  1. Placing a key in the door and turning to UNLOCK.
  1. Turning the key to RUN or ACC.
The anti-theft alarm can be triggered by the following conditions:
  • The ignition cylinder is damaged with or without the RAP being armed.
  • A door is opened without disarming the armed RAP module.
The remote transmitter can activate a panic alarm which is similar to an anti-theft alarm, but does not deactivate the starter or cause the theft indicator to flash.
Disarming a Triggered System
If the system has been triggered, (the horn honks, the lights flash, and an external starter interrupt relay is engaged), the system can be disarmed by:
  1. Pressing the UNLOCK or PANIC button on the transmitter.
  1. Putting a key in the door and unlocking the door.
  1. Turning the ignition to RUN/ACC (Turning the key to RUN/ACC will not disarm an alarm that has been triggered by the ignition lock anti-theft switch.).
