i had all this changed out about 2 months ago a whole new clutch kit plus flywheel turn. ford dealer had a real hard time with it and it took 3 weeks. will take it back to them is under warranty still. didnt know new brake pads would cause such an issue. will never by any suzuki product again.

Check for an over full brake reservoir as some vehicle clutch cylinders get their oil from the brake master cylinder and if the oil was not bled out when pushing the pistons back in , there is a possibility that the clutch operation has been affected

it was overfull, bled the clutch over and over until the fluid came back to full line. can get into first barely, still nothing grinds but no second. the other gears feel fine. slightly confused at the moment

  • Bill Boyd Oct 17, 2015

first gear is a a gear that indicates a problem in the clutch operation
second gear is full syncro so there should be no concern there
first gear grates because the clutch plate has not been full released
As the clutch slave cylinder is a simple bucket on a piston , it indicates that the problem is in the clutch master cylinder and a blockage in the compensating port
I would be inclined to pull it off and clean it out and fit a new kit to it

had a whole new clutch kit and flywheel turned less than 90 days ago. they had it 3 weeks at the ford dealer. nobody seems to know how to work on these. will never buy a suzuki again. very disappointed.

  • Bill Boyd Oct 18, 2015

you never mentioned in your original question that you had clutch work done
all your comments were about a brake job
now you are upset about how a ford dealer had it for 3 weeks to do a clutch kit replacement and you are not satisfied with the work
    well it is like this
All dealers have a workmanship guarantee and you should have known this as it is written on the account you got when you paid for the work so instead of going on line ,your course of action is to go back to the dealer and have him fix the fault properly
if he won't then you have legal recourse to have him pay for the job to be done at an accredited clutch and brake shop
now as to your question --with missing information you will not an answer as to how to fix anything as a person answering the question cannot only replies on what you write

Suzuki Forenza error code P0782

Well code 782 is for a problem with the 2-3 shift solenoid or the circuit back to the engine computer. The solenoid is inside the transmission.
Code 722 was for a problem with the speed sensor. You could have a wiring harness problem.

Trouble shifting gears. Gears grinding while shifting from 1st to 2nd. Also cannot down shift from 2nd to 1st unless going less than 10 mph

YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR TRANS OUT AND HAVE IT REBUILT, THE SYNCHROS ARE WORN OUT!!

Transmission problem in E230 Benz

What you need to check is the transmission release bearing because if there is a clearance on the release bearing you will encounter this problem and also check the transmission oil.

Desciption of the gear positions on the automatic gear shift

The gearbox normally shifts like this in "D":

1st gear to 2nd gear

2nd gear to 3rd gear

3rd gear to OverDrive

If you have the selector in "2", it will not make the final 2 shifts. "2" is nice for descending very steepo hills slowly, and also is nice to use coming down hills when it is icy/snowy, the engine will slow down in "2", and you will not have to depress the brake pedal.
