Its very good that you quickly observe this, nd its gona save u some money, bcos such faults can fry the automatic clutch fibres, and the gear ratio likewise,,,its the speedometer sensor that's faulty , so if u can fix it now,.it will not affect the valve body,,nd it wilk save u from changing the whole gear box

1998 plymouth voyager speedometer reads 15 over

I would suspect you have a faulty electronic speedo head, have the cluster removed and have it sent out for repair of the problem. There is no at home repair procedure for this problem, it takes special equip to repair the speedo.

1990 honda accord speedometer inaccurate

The speedometer sensors on these cars can go bad sometimes and often, and also low power steering fluid can effect their readings. Check your power steering fluid level and see if that is the cause, If not, the sensor is probably worn out a bit.

I have a 1997 dodge grand caravan and the speedometer is stuck on 120 mph! I was traveling and the alternater went, so I got a new one and a new battery. The car is running fine, but the speedometer and...

you may have to take a magnet and put it over the speedometer needle and move the needle back to zero, this some times happens when a battery is connected as the voltage surge causes the needle to bounce some times to far and its not able to return to zero.you may need to have the system checked for proper charging, the voltage could be borderline causing the light to come on.you can try disconnecting the battery as it may reset the light.

1996 dodge ram 1500 5.9 2wheel drive automatic code reading multiple cylender misfire, also speed odometer reading 10 to 15mph slower than actual speed ie 55 is actually 80

I need to verify something about your vehicle. Are youan the original owner and did your speedometer suddenly start reading slower, and was reading normally before? Or did you just find out recently because you got a ticket or somebody clocked your speedometer by riding along side you? If you are not the original owner, I would check the tire height rating from the manufacturer versus the rating of the tire you have on the vehicle now. If the manufacturer installed a "G" series and you have a "H" series, for example, your speedometer will read slower than your actual speed as the "H" series is a taller tire. The higher the letter in the series, the taller the tire will be. (larger in diameter)
Regarding your random cylinder misfire, I would recommend replacing the spark plug wires. Also, the be sure to use the conveluet heat shields that surround the wires that are routed around the exhaust manifold. Be sure to route them correctly or the excessive heat will cause them to break down prematurely.

Transmission speedometer problem

This all can be caused by a defective Vehicle Speed sensor, also called a VSS, also run a test on the computer to see if any codes are in memory that will help to sort this problem out.
