I have a 98 isuzu rodeo and my friend hooked up the jumper cables wrong one day and now none of my dash lights or any of the switches on my dash work (4x4, cruise control, etc.) and it's stuck in 4x4

The flasher or dash light fuses are under the dash next to the drivers left knee above the side panel. Hope this helps.

shutting off while in drive should not hurt anything-do you have dash lights when you turn the key on-will the engine turn over when you turn the key to start position-is it firing at all-let me know and I will try to help you-Denny

the plugin to the winter drive switch in console has come lose. had the same problem in my rodeo. if the dash light isnt coming on then its unpuged.

Are you the original owner ? Did it have an after market radio installed ? If yes, it might of had wiring connected wrong from there.

I wopuld suggest you replace the dimmer control switch for the dash lighting.

This is straight from Haynes Repair Manual for 1989-1997 Isuzu Amigo/Rodeo/Honda Passport (book # 47017:
The 12 pin Assembly Line Data Link (ALDAL) terminal is located under the dash on the driver's side on 3.1L engines. To retrieve the trouble codes, connect a jumper wire to terminals A and B. It may be covered with a plastic cover. They suggest using a paper clip to jumper the two terminals-then turn ignition switch to ON position (NOT ENGINE START). Check engine light on dash will flash-one flash-a pause-then two short flashes-indicating code 12-diagnostic mode. After self checking-if there are any trouble codes-the light will flash proper codes using mentioned method.Note the flash code then call a shop with your info for what ails your Rodeo.

is it because your not at a stop?

pullswitch drivers side power up brown and white and ground blue and red use jumper wires

with lights off and battery disconnected remove the twist knob on the dash that brighten and dims your dash lights and jump the two prongs with a jumper wire. connect battery and turn lights on all your dash lights should work now. if thay don't take the dash screws out and replace the bulbs, it's really easy if you have mechanical skills if not consult a friend that does. now you know the dash light dimmer switch is bad and they are hard to find i found mine in a wreck but until i did i just left the jumper wire in place (about a year and 1/2)
