Driving grinding humming noise, louder with speed. The maximum loudness is at around 25 - 30 mph, it comes down after 50 mph. feels like something was resonating there. I also feel a fine vibration from gas pedal when the noise is loud. At the first place I thought it was from wheel bearings. I replaced all 4 bearings, the noise IS reduced but still there. Now my attention is drew to drive shafts, I notice there is a hanger bearing at the midway of the long drive shaft from transfer case to rear differential. Could it be shot? or maybe U-joints? or, front wheel drive axles malfunction will also cause this kind of noises? Oh, BTW, this noise seems getting worse after driving a while. First start in a day, cold start, noise seems dimmer.
It could be center bearing, if its going bad it can also cause a vibration, make sure you have sufficient fluid in the diff as well, you can also get a noise and vibration from collapsed motor or trans mounts
