2.5l. What are the probable causes of DTC P0160?

there are about a dozen O2 sensor codes. Tell us which one you have

If the PCM detects an excessively rich condition, DTC P0172 or P0175 sets.
Possible cause's , leaking fuel injectors , leaking fuel pressure regulator .
Possi GM CPI Leak Part 1 bleed down testing P0172 code

According to the error code list (see the link below) it is an over advanced cam shaft timing. It well may be a mechanical fault as opposed to an electrical fault. Read about it here:

Main Catalyst Efficiency Deterioration (Bank 1)
Trouble Code Conditions: DTC P0136, P0139 and P0140 not set, engine running at 3000 rpm or high in closed loop at 45-60 mph for 140 seconds, and the PCM detected the rear HO2S and front HO2S signals were too similar.
Possible Causes:


Air leaks at the exhaust manifold or in the exhaust pipes. Catalytic converter is damaged or has failed . Front HO2S or rear HO2S is contaminated with fuel or moisture. Front HO2S or rear HO2S heater is damaged or has failed. Front HO2S or rear HO2S is contaminated with fuel or moisture. Trouble Code: P0431
Main Catalyst Efficiency Deterioration (Bank 2)
Trouble Code Conditions: DTC P0150, P0154, P0159, P0158, P0160 and P0161 not set, engine started, engine running at 3000 rpm or high in closed loop at 45-60 mph for 140 seconds, and the PCM detected the rear HO2S and front HO2S signals were too similar in the Catalyst Monitor test.
Possible Causes:


Air leaks at the exhaust manifold or in the exhaust pipes. Catalytic converter is damaged or has failed. Front HO2S or rear HO2S is contaminated with fuel or moisture. Front HO2S or rear HO2S heater is damaged or has failed. Front HO2S or rear HO2S is contaminated with fuel or moisture .

Trouble Code: P0160

HO2S-22 (Bank 2 Sensor 2) No Activity Detected
Possible Causes:


HO2S signal circuit is open or shorted to ground HO2S element is contaminated or it has failed HO2S heater is damaged or has failed PCM has failed

This code means:

P0160 - O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

In most cases the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. I would try this first since it's the cheapest and easiest route.
