Very low or no oil pressure reading does not necessarily mean the oil pump is not working and if you replaced the oil pump because of low oil pressure does not mean the original pump had necessarily failed. It may have but it may not have. Oil pressure is not created by the oil pump but by the resistance to oil flow. If you have very low resistance to flow you will get very low oil pressure no matter how well the oil pump is pumping. If you have a very worn engine, especially the bottom end main bearings and conrod bearings, tolerances increase very significantly, there is little resistance to flow and you will achieve very low oil pressure and metal parts will touch. Oil flow to the upper part of the engine may also suffer. If your engine is gummed up with oil sludge due to too few oil changes some oil passages may be blocked as well.

1997 Toyota 4 runner. Cranks up w no problem but gotta rev slightly , but has a loud noise under hood. Stick shows oil is ok but oil light is on. Between 30-40 mph it's runs fine w no noise. I've been told...

First of all you have to determine if you really have low oil pressure with a real gauge. If the oil pressure is zero you may have a bad oil pump, but if the pressure is low your engine may be just worn out and the oil cannot build up pressure because the clearances are too loose.

Good day Sir, I read the posting about 1990 Ford F250 351 5.8 bucking, chattering and no power my truck as same issue. New plugs plug wires distributor fuel pump fuel filter oil pump water pump hear gasket...

If the noise is all the time you were on the right track with the oil pump. I would expect to find the valves and lifters dry for oil.
But if it only makes the noise when you are accelerating, then yes the timing would be suspect.
Did you test the fuel pump pressure after you replaced the pump and filter ?

Oil light on engine is full of oil

HI, The Oil Light comes on to show a low oil pressure not just that it is low on oil. If your not experience any unusual engine noise i would not suspect low oil pressure but more likely a bad oil pressure sending unit.

2000 daewoo nubira low oil pressure and no oil pressure sometimes

There are only two valid reasons for low oil pressure...bad bearings on crankshaft or obstructed oil pickup screen for pump...pump can be damaged by debris or hard carbon from either source but generally will not fail on it's own.
You may not be happy to hear this answer, but that's how it works on every engine, not just yours!!!
Good luck with it

replace oil filter bypass (the boss that the oil filter screws to)... other than that ..oil pump failing...main bearings out of spec not allowing oil to stay under pressure and reach the upper valve train...good luck

Innermitent noise from the oil pressure signal

When you turn left or right sounds like your CV joints on the drive shaft. They may need replacing. Your oil problem could be a faulty oil pressure sensor or a failing oil pump. These need checking out by someone who knows what they are doing. If the oil pump fails, you may end up needing a replacement engine.
