Set cruise and light comes on in dash but nothing works
Read your owner's manual. It will tell you how to operate your cruise control and will have a diagram of all of the fuses. However, if the light is turning on, you have to set the cruise, or you have a malfunction with the unit. Replacing a fuse probably wont fix it.
If cruise control main light comes on but you cannot set a speed (no set), you could have a bad brake pedal switch.
(If the cruise control light comes on, chances are that it is NOT a fuse issue).
Some vehicles have two switches (one for brake lights and one for cruise control cancel) and others have a multifunctional, single switch.
The function to cancel cruise control is very sensitive so it only takes a small movement of the pedal to cancel cruise control.
You can try lifting on the brake pedal while trying to set the cruise, but this does not alway work. Replace switches are pretty cheap (less than $30) and pretty easy and quick to replace.

no not a fuse may be the switch itself this is common and parts are not badly priced. replace the switch. It just pops out. The directions will tell you to take out the airbag first but it will sneek out of there.
SOURCE: Steering wheel lamps do not work (radio controls, temp, cruise)
The lights on the steering wheel are in the switches. To fix the lights, the whole switch needs to be replaced. Same thing goes for the Tempature Controls and radio. Overall, I think it would be very expensive to replace all of the switches to get the lights working. I have the same vehicle, and almost all of the lights are out.
I think the lights behind the gage controls are replaceable, although you still have to rip out most of the dash to get to them.
I have the auto-sense wipers, so I was leaving the wipers on all the time, and the would only work when needed. The bad part I finally found out about this was that while the wiper switch is on (even though they were not wiping), it caused all of the dash lights, switch lights and rear parking light to be on. I think this alone significantly cut down on the life of the bulb.
For now, I am just living without the lights. The temperature control is very expensive (just the part alone).

Check the wires. This happened in my grandmother's car. Mice chewed through her cruise control wires and f;d everything up. Check continuity between the wires from PCM to output on your wiring diagram.
