Have a 1995 6.5 turbo diesel runs fine until it gets to 180 degrees then it loads up like it is flooding itself out wont run right .already changed pmd that not it

Over heating is common for that model. Leads to cracked heads and other issues. Make sure pump is good, radiator is clean inside and out, check coolant for proper dilution.

My 97, 5.2 runs 200 without AC, if I turn on AC, it goes to 220. Replaced clutch fan, thermostat, water pump, and new cap. Backflushed block and radiator. No results. Why so hot? Only 92K on unit.

dodges run like that. if your worried put a 180 degree thermostat in. maybe even a 160 . wont hurt engine or fuel mileage . my 99 dodge ram 1500 sport runs fine with 160 degree one. hope it helped , good luck

Thermostadt was stuck open replaced thermostadt now it runs just a little hot

Yes, try a 180 thermostat, with a 195 the fans will not turn on until about 210.

1988 chevy suburban 350 throttle body it runs fine until warmed up to about 160 degrees then floods itself out then wait an hour same thing happens

I would suspect a bad engine coolant temp sensor.I would have someone pull the diagnostic codes and look at the data stream and see what the engine temp reading is.

2001 Taurus won't start when warm. Try to start it, it will try to run, roughly, then dies. Then will only turn over for awhile. After it sits for 20 minutes or so, it starts like a new one and keeps...

Sometimes a motor is more sensitive to warm conditions. When the water temperature sensor does not cool off it keeps the engine in a warm run mode which is very lean. This is how lower emissions and better fuel economy are made.

The "cold start sequence" makes a richer fuel mix for starting and running. I have not seen a dividing point where this switches from one mode to the other. IF it is say 180 water temperature degrees and your car stays above 180 degrees turned off after running, then the fuel mix will be very lean until the engine coolant loses heat.

About all you can do is put in a new thermostat of proper temperature or a lower temperature thermostat. You could flush the radiator and back flush the block so that heat loss is more efficient. You could put in a new water temperature sensor. You want to get rid of calcium-fication of the internal surface areas so the components are more like factory new.

My 1995 Suzuki Swift floods at startup untill the engine warms up

Check for vacuum leaks. WIth the engine running, wiggle all hoses around and listen for a hissing sound. Look for a cracked broken or loose hose.

1994 GMC Sierra 1500 6.5 diesel runs for awhile then stalls

check your pmd switch. i had mine changed and it runs great. the problem is that it gets too hot and burns it up. be sure to move the pmd swith on the firewall away from the injection pump.

My 1995 chevy 6.5 L diesel dies at highway speeds. Why?

I could bet 99.9% with out seeing the truck my self that your probelem is the PMD I have two of these trucks and know many people that also have them and the vast majority of problems with the Chevy 6.5L diesels are from the PMD. A must when replacing the PMD is moving it from its place on the injection pump on the top of the engine to a place that dosent get so hot. A good place is the front bumper or skidplace, search for Heath Diesel they have a kit to move it. Its worth every penny.
