First is to adjust the dash lights which is on your light control. Should be a thumb toggle that you use to turn on your dome lights. All the way up will brighten your dash and clock lights. There should also be a setting in your menu on the clock/radio itself.
On your dash is a little round switch with a ballast resistor in it, by turning it clock wise or counter clock wise you can change the settings and intensity of your dash lights.
Have you tried to replace the headlight switch? I ask that because you say the radio and clock go out, with the headlights on clock and radio go dim, so not so bright at night but bright in day to see them. So maybe the switch is bad?
the dash dimmer turned down? i guess you mean parking lights and dash dimmer, is dead in clock. but is it dead in the whole dash? if the dash is dimming and the clock dim lamp is dead (park) then its bad. (check fuses in all cases first)
Just pop off the little storage compartment housing the clock, use a
butter knife or thin screwdriver and start at the front edges. It should
pop up with a little pressure. From there you can pull out the whole
assembly and access the clock.
Sounds like your clock is dying. This is typically an issue with the clock itself. This is very common with many vehicles, CR-Vs, Pathfinders, 4runners, etc. The good news is that it can be repaired for a reasonable rate, check out www.autoclockrepair.com
ITS THE BULBS IN THE DASH, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ALTENATOR IS GOING BAD IF ALL OTHER LIGHTS FLIKER,IF JUST THE RADIO LIGHTS ITS POSSIBLY JUST THE RADIO LIGHTS GOING OUT
No, the light is totally out. The little light bulb that is connected to the stereo is out. I was wondering the best way to take the dash off. I don't have a manual and I was wondering where that light bulb is connected to and the best way to approach it? Thanks
