Have a new ignition switch installed with new keys and get it programed to the car.

SOURCE: How can I bypass a anti auto theft system on my 1990 cadillac seville?

I Have A Seville 1990, When That Happen To Me I Got The Inginion
Replaced Problem Solved. What Is Happening Is Your Key Has A Chip And That Chip Is A Resister And When The Valve Is Not Sented To The Computer It Disengages the Fuel Pump And Than Tells You To Wait. Soon All That Will Happen Is You Will Get The Wait 3 Mins And It Will Never Start, A Good Locksmith Can Take Care Of This For You And That Will Save You Some Money. Cause If You Go To The Dealer Ouch They Will Hit You Up. But I Asure This Is How It Will Happen Cause It Is How It Happen To Me
And Sorry There Is No By Passing The Computer

SOURCE: anti-theft system

Read your manual or take it to the dealer. It sounds like it needs reset.....if this is a factory anti theft system, only the installer may be able to help you.

SOURCE: 97 cadillac deville

you either have a bad key...did you try more than one key?
Two other things can be wrong..
1) the igintion cylnder (where ya put the key in) has samll wires that sense the pellet in the keys for your car, and often they break, and the cylnder has to be replaced.
2) the passkey module has gone bad.
Either of these problems can be fixed by any compatent mechanic that has cadillac experience.

SOURCE: cadillac seville won't start

I've got an even cheaper and easier solution, instead of buying a new cylinder, find that plug and snip the orange wires going to the old cylinder. Then remove the resistor chip from the key and solder each of the the wires to each side. this will fool the car into thinking the correct resistor chip is in place, allowing you to use the original key or any copies with or without resistor chips. i just did this to my caddy and it roared to life! :)

you damaged the ignition switch and it will not recognize key you have to replace the tumbler and ignition switch the key acts like an electronic switch in most modern vehicles put key in and its recolonized and will turn and start vehicle ---damage to key or tumbler sets off anti theft and you have no start ---in future dont try to hot wire or pop ignition when keys are lost (thats all hollywood) go to dealer with vin and proof of ownership and they can cut you a new key

Put new key ignition in my 1999 and it will not program to turn over and start the vehicle

Is because the ignition/column and theft module do not match, or maybe damaged theft system during the attempted theft of truck. You can bypass tho.

Changed the ignition lock cylinder and started the car with the new key. Car started and then shut off immediately. Tried several times with no luck. Now car won't start.

anti theft device has shut down car setup to do so if someone steals it...new key was not chipped.check with dealer on how to reset

Ignition switch repair

whats left of the key cylinder? Is it still in place? if it is or isn't... if you can turn it with a flat head screw driver to the "start" position then your in good shape. Chances are you have a transponder chip (a theft deterrent, probably why they weren't able to steal your car) built into you key... try to crank it with the screwdriver and place (the top of) your key near the cylinder so it can pick up the signal. as for replacing the cylinder... that's a bit more tricky, i would bring it to a dealership and try to get your insurance to cover it....

I lost the keys of my ford 2006 while surfing yesterday. I tried to start the ignition by breaking the cylinder and using a flat screwdriver but no luck. It does the starting sound but doesnt start. there...

You cannot start the car without the chip. That's why it's called anti-theft device. The purpose is just that: to prevent anybody to steal the car with a screwdriver.
You have to get a new cylinder and a new key from the authorized dealer. You'll probably need some proof of ownership.

Securetylightison and wont start have fuel/spark trys to run then stops cycle key then start then shuts off admidiatly

your car was build with an anti-theft devise from GM, inside the ignition key is a micro-chip, when you insert the key in the ignition cylinder, the sensor inside the cylinder will measure the resistance of that micro-chip inside the key, if there is a match the engine will start, if no match the computer will think someone is trying to steal your car & shut it off.
try using another ignition key (spare key) if this doesn't work most likely the tiny wire inside the ignition cylinder is broken therefore the ignition cylinder will need to be replaced.

Keys are locked inside my 99 chevy malibu

You are going to have to spring for a locksmith unless someone in your family has a key. Next time, keep a factory made key (copies tend to screw up the $250-300 ignition module, yeah its that much) at a family member's house. Or hide one very carefully somewhere not around your car or house. If you try picking the door lock or using slim jims, you could cause expensive damage. I don't know why anybody would steal this rental-car looking heap, but they have a huge theft-deterrent system in the cars.
