Have replaced fuel pump, filter, relay and pump will pump air out but not gas. Have had the tank dropped and fuel pump checked that it is right several times, but still get only air. HELP?
Finally got it started. Had to put nearly 1/2 tank of gas in for it to start. I would suggest priming the pump or having lots of gas to put in before going through what we did trying to find the problem. Finally got it started. Thank you, but we have also tried switching them and the pump won't come on at all if they are switched.Thank you, but we have also tried switching them and the pump won't come on at all if they are switched.

Since the engine start with manual assistance then you problem is fuel delivery. check you fuel pump fuse and relay. if that looks good then you probably have a bad fuel pump. Most are located in the gas tank. So this is either an easy replacement or you have to drain the gas tank and drop it to replace the fuel pump.
Okay, you need to make sure the fuel pump is getting power and that you have the lines hooked up correctly. Also, when you replace fuel pumps you need to remove the air cleaner and use starter fluid to get the engine started.
if your fuel pump and relay are new, how about your fuel filter, if your fuel pump is working but no fuel turns out, check fuel pump polarity, if ok, there will be a clogging in fuel lines, take a high pressure air and plug it to fuel outlet in fuel lines test port, allow air to go back up to fuel tank and observe if the air goes, if not, check or change fuel line, if the air goes to tank, direct your fuel relay pin 30 and 87 and check if the fuel runs to the injectors, if not, change a good fuel pump
Yes the fuel tank has to come out to replace the fuel pump.Easier if tank is 1/4 tank or lower. Before doing this make sure that your getting power to the fuel pump.If not check the fuses and the connector for the fuel pump. You can check for power with a test light. It will be the gray wire.Light should come on when the key is turned on.Will only stay on for 2 or 3 seconds unless you crank it.Hope this helps.Good luck.
before you drop tank again, check fuses & relay.then disconnect fuel line @ filter turn key to on position should hear fuel pump run and get gas stream out of line. if no flow from line new pump faulty be sure & remove negative battery cable first good luck.
You are looking for the constant control relay module- ( CCRM ) see below. The pump will be located inside the fuel tank. Most of the time , its the pump and not the relay but, it wouldn't hurt to check the relay out. Teh relay is housed in the CCRM. Its located behind the engine coolant reservoir.
