What make , model and year vehicle ? Not all vehicles have a fuel pump reset ! Ford's an some asian vehicles have them ! And doing electrical testing is how to check fuel pump . There are videos on youtube for trouble shooting the fuel pump .
if you remove the fuel cap from the fuel tank put your ear to the tank holehave someone turn the key to the start position or to the run position and if you don't hear the fuel pump buzzing at that turned it is possible that you either have a problem with the fuel pump for the fuel pump wiringsometimes it can even be a bad ground for the fuel pump which is usually somewhere on the fuel tank for the body of the vehicle
Hello and welcome to FixYa!
Try to loosen the bolt on the fuel rail then turn on the ignition but don't crank the engine. If the fuel doesn't flow then it's definitely a bad fuel pump which will surely require replacement.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
Well that could be a indication of a bad fuel pump, but it could also be a bad or clogged fuel filter, or even a really needing a tune up... When was the last time you changed the plugs and wires? I would do that before I ever got into the fuel pump issue... You can have the pump pressure tested. Do the plugs and wires, next do the fuel and air filters... If that doesnt help have the pressure tested...
You may have either or, or maybe even both..The first fuel pump, is in the gas tank...and the second one is a fuel injection pump....You have to see if you have power at your fuel pump//in the tank..if you do, and it does not work then that one is bad, you can also bang on the tank with a Rubber Mallot, while someone is cranking it, and if it starts..you know its going bad also...
