SOURCE: Timing Belt for 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor

Yes, I would replace it according to the owner's manual. Could be very expensive if it breaks.

My Mitsubishi Endeavor (2005) has run 60000 miles. I am going to change Timing Belt. Is Water Pump actuated by the Timing Belt ? So does it make sense to change the Water Pump at the same time? Thanks in...

Its a rule of the thumb that when ever you do a timing belt yopu also change
  1. the crankshaft seals
  2. cam seals
  3. water pump
  4. tensioner pulley(included in the timing kit)
It will just save from paying someone just to pull it apart and do it all over.To reach the timing belt/chain all these will have to be pulled apart so why not change it so it lasta you another 100k's

It is a 99 ford explorer and i need to find out how to change or fix the timing belt the engine is a 4.0 4x4 4- door

The Ford 4.0L engine is equipped with a timing chain, and sprockets, not a belt.

Perhaps you meant the accessory dirve (serpentine) belt?

If you need the procedure for replacing the serpentine belt, or timing chain post a comment to this thread and I will endeavor to monitor new activity and respond as soon as possible. I recommend that you

My endeavor turned off while driving,I opened up the hood and the belt is on but ripped and the car won't start. why?

It is possible, and most likely the belt had been slipping, and the alternator was not charging the battery back up as the engine was running,so charge the battery, and replace the belt, and for sure check all pulleys to see that none of them are locked up.If his was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor with about 130K miles on the clock. How much use can I get out of the timing belt - I am a gentle driver?

No matter how gentle you are with your vehicle, the engine and all rotating parts still rotate and eventually wear out or get fatigued, it is recommended to replace the timing belt every 60,000 miles, I guarentee you it will be ALOT cheaper to replace the timing belt, than have it break and cause catastrophic damage to the engine internal parts, which odds are you would have to replace the engine because it wouldn't be worth investing the money to fix that engine after a timing belt break!
Good Luck !
