Try tapping it with a broom handle. Reason for this comment is that new part is made same as old. Unless you have a warranty it can fail quickly. Unsure of location of your exact type but part is usually in ductwork and much is hidden. Try Web for photos using your exact model details.

Where is the heater resistor on a 2005 dodge dakota? Behind glove box?

should be just above the blower motor. You will need to remove the glove box door to gain access.

98 buick heater stop working

Its faulty blower motor resistor. The low and medium speed on blower motor is controlled by resistor and its actual speed is high. So because resistor is not working, blower motors actual speed which is high is working.

It can be faulty blower motor or faulty blower motor resistor. Get the blower motor inspected. If it's faulty it has to be replaced.

Heater / air conditioner fan control doesn't engage fan. Previously, it only worked in high speed.

I would replace the blower motor resistor first then see if that corrects this. The resistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash.

Remove heater control switch

Before removing the heater switch on this 2006 citroen hdi I would first have the blower motor checked and the most common reason for this and other blower problems would be the blower resistor.

Your blower works on and off at times, first locate the blower motor and the resistor. the blower motor is located on the heater box, look under the pass/side of the dash, you may have to remove under dash cover to see blower.
When you have located the blower now look to the side on the heater box, there you will see a connector plug, it plugs into a connection on the heater box, this will be the resistor, the resistor slides into heater box and the end of it bolts to box to hold it in place and then the connector plugs into it, if you can not locate it then follow wires that plug into blower , follow wires back they will lead you to resistor,
next time blower does not work wiggle connector to resistor and see if blower turns on, if it does then resistor is the problem. also unplug resistor plug at resistor and check for any burning of connectors at plug and inside resistor.

I would bet its a bad resistor or the plug is brunt due to high draw from bad connections, if plug has burn damage to connectors then replace the plug along with resistor.

Heater blower only works on high

Your heater resistor is bad. I have had this happen several times to my vehicle. You can get a new one from Auto Zone for about 23$. The bigger problem is the motor though. The blower motor is has a resistance issue and that is why the resistor goes bad. I replaced my resistor several times before figuring it out. The new resistor will work for awhile but eventually will go bad again unless you replace the blower motor.

The heater fan on my 1993 f-350 has become really loud. I only have hi speed which I understand may be a resistor issue but how do I remove the fan and motor assembly to inspect it?

A heater blower motor resistor is an electronic device with three or more progressive resistors that allow the heater blower motor to operate at slower speeds. The highest speed of the heater blower motor is not controlled by the resistor, so when the resistor fails, the fan will often work on the highest speed setting, but not the lower speeds.
To resistor is generally located under the dashboard and under the hood, near the blower motor . The resistor's electrical connector is disconnected, the resistor is removed and the new resistor is installed. On some vehicles it may be easily accessible, and on others it may take partial dashboard removal to replace the resistor.
Look under the hood, generally the wiring for the Blower resistor is attached to the wiring to the blower motor itself
It's inboard & below the motor, near the accumulator. You can see it standing beside the passenger fender. it's the off-white connector behind the L heater hose above the vacuum reservoir & the white WARNING sticker

Heater does not work

The heater not working. This problem is related to few possibilities 1) The thermostat can be faulty. 2) the heater blower motor resistor is faulty 3) The heater blower motor it self is faulty. ------------ The The blower resistor is behind glove-box on plenum.Connect the 12 volt battery directly to the heater blower motor and see,if the motor runs then its faulty resistor or thermostat.but if no motor running then its faulty motor. The thermostat is located at the top front of the engine. For easy access follow the top radiator hose. The top radiator hose goes in engine .Take that hose out and thermostat will be seen inside. --------- The thermostat and resistor are not very costly part.So you can directly replace them and see if its helping.First confirm motor is working,by directly by passing the blower motor to 12 volt battery. ------------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
