This shouldn't be a problem. I can't seem to send diagrams through this forum so please email me at [email protected] and please include the engine size and whether it is turbo or non turbo.
PULL OUT NO 1 SPARK PLUG PUT A SCREW DRIVER DOWN THE HOLE AND TURN THE ENGINE OVER BY HAND UNTIL THE SCREW DRIVER IS AT THE TOP THEN YO WILL SEE THE MARKS ON THE CRANK OR LOOK AT THE TIMMING COVER IT SHOULD SHOW YOU TDC
the timming should be set @ 6BTC you will need a timming light to check it.
You should go buy a manual from your local automotive store befor changing your timming belt
the site below will show you how to make sure you timming marks are right but it will not explain the removel or installation http://www.mazdatruckin.com/B2200//B2200_Timing_Belt.html
to reset the timeing tou will have to have the vehicle running. you will need to get a timming light. loosen your distributer so you can turn it but DO NOT turn it until your are ready. on the timming light you will have a camp running on one wire and a gun with a light in it. hook the clamp up to your number one spark plug wire. On your vehicle under the hood it should say on a sticker what the timing should be set at EX: 1.2.3.4.
have someone start the car and point the timming light towards the crank. there should be some marking on it that you will be able to see with the timming light. there should be a needle pointing at one of the numbers. after you find what number your vehicle is supposed to be set turn the distributor one way or the other until the needle points to the setting you need. after that hold the distributor in place and tighten it back up. than see what you have from there.
