Transmission problems : (

The engine runs strong, no problems there. The car seems to slip/hesitate when little gas is given when driving and has the same feeling at idle on a stop.. But if you step on the gas hard during driving it while shift up just fine not missing a beat.. has done this off and on for years and seems to be getting worse.. any ideas appreciated! Thanks

Have you checked your transmission fluid? Be sure to read the owner's manual for the correct way to check this fluid.

2002 mitsubushi lancer with 233,000 miles. Car hesitates when going uphill at moderate speeds. Shifts into higher gear and then hesitates when mire gas is given to it. Could this be clogges fuel...

It could be the fuel pressure regulator valve is at fault. Maybe its time to have a fuel pressure diagnostic run along with having the injectors flushed. How is the transmission fluid level looking, check it on the transmission dipstick whilst the engine is running (have someone engage 'drive' while both the parking and foot brakes are engaged). If it is brown and low replace the transmission filter and top up with fresh fluid

Transmission Slipping?

Putting it in four wheel drive does not eliminate the transmission. Honestly, it sounds like the transmission is on it's way out. A 4l60e in one of cars was acting the same way. It required a rebuild.

A little transmision hesatation.

Bear in mind that for the transmission to work properly, the engine needs to be running at optimum specs. If the engine is even just a tiny bit off these, the transmission will not respond properly. For instance, a partially clogged air filter will cause these symptoms.A project such as what you're wanting to do with modifying your car Will set you back about 3000 dollars and Will affect your gas mileage, to the point that it is economically not feasible..accordianman

Car troouble

Hi, I checked the transmission fluid level.  It is a bit high.  Read an article on web, it says high trans fluid level may cause transmission malfunction.  My technician took some fluid out to lower the level.  Not sure it will fix the problem yet.  Will let you know.
Do you think high trans fluid level may cause the problem I experienced?
Thanks for your help.
