Not enough freon? Dual air takes up to 48 ounces.

Testimonial: "no that did not work either"

Has anyone put a set of gauges on it? Get gauges on it. Read the high and low pressure, with the outside temperature at the time. I'll tell you what is wrong.

  • Ernie Smith Jul 31, 2015

pressures are fine temp is 88 outside

  • Randy Ohler Aug 01, 2015

At 88 degrees, the pressure should be at 45 to 55 low, and 250 to 300 high.

93 Ford Aerostar rear ac not blowing cold?

If the front is blowing cold but not the rear, chances are it's a bad expansion valve. But check for clogged evap coil first.

My daughters expedition 2005 rear air blows hot air until she drives on the highway above 60 then it gets cold. The front blows cold all like it is supposed to. Could it be the expansion valve?

First make sure that the ac system is full of freon. Hook up a set of gauges to see what kind of pressures you have. 35-45 low side and 250-375 high side depending on the ambient temp. The rear expansion valve could be bad but also the heat / cold actuator could be bad. Watch this video.

To check the rear expansion valve, see if the a/c lines are different temperatures. One line to the rear evaporator should be hot and the other cold if it is working.
Try to recailbrate the blend door actuator. Remove the HVAC module fuse. Wait at least 15 seconds. Replace it, turn the key on and wait 40 seconds

Rear a/c blows warm on 01 gmc suburban

Trying to isolate the concern by dividing the a/c into 2 units. If the lines are cold going to the rear a/c, look at the rear a/c control switch or blend door areas. If they are not, look at the switch from the front controls to the blend door for the actual rear a/c lines.

04 TAHOE Front A/C works great, Rear A/C blows warm. Seems like something isnt shutting the flow of hot water to the back??

Hi Jason.
Sounds like you are on the right track with the flow of hot coolant not stopping. Check your heater control valve to make sure it is stopping the flow of coolant through the rear heater core. Let me know. Hope this helps.

A Chiltons/Hanes repair manual for this Xterra will have the A/C schematics you need. When you replaced those parts did you re-charge the system? You may have a refrigerant leak.

99 SAAB 9-5 PROBLEM WITH AC....AC IS WORKING.. CONDENSING WITH NO PROBLEMS ...WATER RUNNING OUT UNDER CAR..PRESSURES ARE 225 HI 35 LOW... NOT GETTING COLD AIR INSIDE...LUKE WARM ON DRIVERS, AND COOLER...

OK, most cars have heater cores that get hot but the blender door directs air away from this core in the a/c mode when you want cool air from the evaporator.

I'm not sure if there is a control valve which stops the water from going through the heater valve.

I think the part is called a 'heater blend door actuator' that you are after.
