Remove the door to the fuse panel to the left of your steering wheel. Locate the fuse and pull it out. At least your lights will be off until u can figure out and correct the problem. Remove the fuse for the courtesy lights.

Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/genevieve_722d20889b4b9c97

Usually when that is case you need to look for a dimmer roller which is usually to the left of the steering wheel. If it was rolled all the way beyond the brightest setting it turns the interior lights on regardless of whether the car is on or not

Testimonial: "it is all the way down and still on."

Battery can still be dead, but have enough power to power the interior lights. Won't have enough juice to crank.

INTERIOR LIGHTS WONT GO OFF. KILLING BATTERY.

Probably bad headlamp switch. You do know most have a position which turns the interior lights on even with the doors closed, don't you? If you have this turned off, but lights stay on, replace the switch.

Why wont interior lights will not turn off on toyota highlander

If your interior lights are not turning off, you probably have the override switch turned on. This is located in front headliner area and has a light icon on it. This switch forces the interior lights on, even when all of your doors are shut, or if you are driving.

Interior lights wont go off ,I had to take the bulbs out , they were very hot.

Obviously you've checked light switch dial or whatever to make sure it wasn't inadvertently turn on by someone. There should be a small button like or pin like switch on door posts (where doors meet body), that turns interior lights on & off as door opens & closes. You should be able to push them in with your finger or thumb. Try one door at a time, and push it in as far as you can & see if interior lights go out, even momentarily. You may have pin style switch near hinges, so look there too. Let us/me know what happens, if anything.

My 1994 fleetwood catillac inside bash lights wont turn off even with out the keys being in it.

Providing your switch isn't turned on?? it is probably something to do with the switch in the door jam. It might be loose or just not doing it's job anymore. Sometimes even electric door locks can cause problems with interior lights. It can be a nightmare! Good luck.
