Drivebelts where is the tension pulley adjuster for drivebelt connection p/s to c/s on a 1998 dodge stratus 2.5l v6. if you could enclose a diagram i would appreciate. thanks in advance.

I'm sorry but you don't need a diagram for vehicle's drive belt. The drive belt is known as the Serpentine Belt. This belt is located on the front of the engine. It connects the power steering pump, water pump, alternator, A/C compressor, tension pulley, idle pulley and crankshaft together. Just incase you need the diagram for routing purposes, here it is.

to replace drive belt rotate tensioner pulley clockwise then slip on new belt look under hood on the radiator shroud for drivebelt routing diagram.check drive belt tensioner for damage or looseness because very seldom drive break either cracked worn or drivebelt tensioner faulty.

1. Place a wrenchon the tensiorer pulley bolt and rotate the tensioner body until tenion on the belt is relieved.
2. Remove the belt from the auxiliary components and carefully release the tensioner.
3. Route the new belt over the various pulleys, again rotating the tensioner to allow the belt to be installed, then release the belt tensioner. Make sure the belt fits properly into the pulley grooves - it must be completely engaged.

1. Drain the coolant.
2. Loosen, (don't remove yet) the 4 bolts that hold the water pump pulley.
3. Remove the drivebelt. In order to remove the belt you need to put a wrench on the tensioner pulley to decrease the tension on the belt.
4. Now remove the 4 bolts loosened in step 2.
5. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the water pump and disconnect the bypass hose from the top of the water pump.
6. Remove the drivebelt tensioner by removing the bolt in the center of it.
7. Remove the water pump bolts. There are 6mm and 8mm bolts, a total of 12 bolts. They are not all the same length. Be careful to note which bolts go in which holes.
8. After all bolts are removed sometimes the pump will require a little whack with a rubber mallet to unseat the gasket. Never pry between the pump and engine block.
9. Before installing the new pump, clean all the old gasket material from the engine block.
10. Use RTV sealant on both sides of the gasket for the new pump.
And............ the rest is just reversing the above except that you can fully tighten the pump pulley before putting the belt back on.

YOU SHOULD HAVE A DRIVEBELT ROUTING DECAL ON THE UPPER RADIATOR PANEL.SOME MODELS HAS A CAST IN HEX ON THE TENSIONER ARM.YOU CAN USE A WRENCH OR SOCKET.SOME MODELS PLACE A TORX BIT ONTO THE FASTENER IN THE CENTER OF THE PULLEY.

If there is no tensioner pulley then you will have to pry it on and off or remove water pump.

slacken the alternator pivot mounting bolt and the adjusting arm bolt then move the alternator towards the engine . slip the drivebelt off the alternator pulley.refitting is the revers sequence of removal, but before titgtening the muonting and adjusting arm bolt, tension the drivebelt.

All you need is a 13mm boxed end wrench. The tensioner pulley is the one all the way on the bottom towards the rear of the van. You can reach it under the van. Slide under the van in front of the passenger front tire and you will wee the pulley. Put the wrench on the bolt and pull towards you to release the tension on the belt.
