Which side do I check for problem and what do i check and in meantime how can i get it to go up manually, something seems to be holding onto it because I cant pull it up.

The front passenger window is stuck down, controls on both sides stopped working.was working on the passenger side for while by itself, then all of a sudden started work on driver side again until 2 days ago when rolled it down, wont go back up.window controls for passenger window stopped working, window is stuck down. which control side do I check and what do I check. How can I get it to go up manually? I tried to pull it up but something is holding it down. I started to take out the screws on the passenger side door to get access behind the panel until I realized it could be the drivers side control causing the problem,so how do I know which side is causing this problem? What do I check and how do I check it, what tools/equipment will I need. I am in Arizona, its too hot to have the windows down in the summer, please help thanks - Jeanne

SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler Pacifica passenger doors have no power

If your alarm went off, it could be that someone had tried to break into your car. They most likely may have cut some of the wires inside your door with what ever device they may have been using. Look for evidence between the bottom of the windows and doors where the problem is. If not, then it is possible that your automatic window assemblies are malfunctioning. Do you hear the motors run on the windows when you go up or down with the switch? I also have a Pacifica, 2005, however no window problems yet.

Good Luck,

Ray

SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. Passenger side window problem.

HAVEK 1005 sounds right on track.... but also try this, usually works well for non functional power windows, specially Caravans.

NO COST PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.
7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

NOW, for the naysayers that says you must replace power window motors etc, at $$$ cost because the above fix does not work, or is not long lasting fix, or less than a "professional fix".... Well then, when the window fails to operate again, apply same fix again at that time.

I have fixed my van this way numerous times (usually once a year), and to all local friends I recommend this fix too, likewise do the same and are happy with the solution.

How can I tell what the problem is with a front, passenger window which is stuck down?

you can put it up manually by taking the door apart to get to the mechanical parts inside the door. (go to youtube it will help you to not destroy points where the clips hold the door innards in..)

My daughter has destroyed a number of automatic window switches, interestingly in the same direction. window goes down, not back up. From constantly rocking the switch towards the back of the vehicle. Replace the switch and I bet everything will be fine... (you'll still have to remove the inside door panels so that video look up with still be needed) I got all my switches from china on ebay and have had excellent results each time... cheap too, honda wanted $125, and I got mine for like $13 delivered...took a week, so you may need to go in and put the window up in the meantime...

Replacing instrument panel bulb

In order to reach the instrument cluster's screws and then remove it, you will first need to: loosen/remove pieces of interior trim, loosen/remove the dash top, and take out several hidden screws. To locate all of them, buy a repair manual, check a manual out from a library, or watch a youtube video (there are several). You don't want to force or pry on anything or something will break and create annoying dash rattles that will never go away. When you do decide how to best attack this puzzle, disconnect the battery first.

Seems like a bad battery terminal connection to me, try having someone hold the terminals while you crank it. Check where the wires bolt onto the terminals too. Could also be a fault in the ignition switch.

5 spd manual trans, shifter doesn't have enough side to side movement to actuate 1st & 2nd gears. Shifter may be at fault? Bushings all seem intact at cable ends. It's the Lt cable that controls the...

Check the busings on BOTH ends of the shifter cables. First check underneath the center console that your bushing didn't break and cause your shifter to be limp and not move anywhere. This is a very common problem and can be remedied permanently by getting the delrin bushing found on ebay.

Next, if the above is fine, check the clips on the shifter side under the hood. There are 4 clips. Two hold the cable ends to the tower and slide horizontally. The other two hold the cables onto the transmission and slide on vertically. Sometimes these clips fall off and makes the shifter inoperable.

Finally if all of the above checks out the last possibility is that your shifter tower metal tab that the shifter cables attaches to is broken and sliding instead of pushing or pulling. This happened to my car but is not likely as my manual was in a raced Saturn previously so wear from that most likely caused it to break.

How do i get the inside cover off the rear drivers side door on a 2005 liberty

couple of things to look for, if its manual window, there will be a clip (sometimes) on the lever that holds it onto the door. also, there can be screws holding on the door handles onto the door, check for them. also, most have snap clips that hold the panel onto the door, remove GENTLY they are a pain in the *** to fix if they break off and you have to put new ones back on the pannel.

hope that helps
