SOURCE: 1998 Windstar - the high beam lights won't shut off

CHECK THE DIMMER SWITCH. THE SWITCH MAY BE "STUCK IN HIGH BEAM POSITION. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL HAVE TO BE REMOVED. ANOTHER THING TO CHECK FIRST IS THE HIGH BEAM RELAY. THIS MAY BE UNDER THE HOOD IN A FUSE PANEL OR UNDER THE DASH. HOPE THIS SHEDS SOME "LIGHT" ON THE SUBJECT..lol

SOURCE: where is the headlight relay on a ford festiva

OK, you're looking at a switch or a relay because although the drl's work, that's a different circuit that's added on after the regular headlights and high beams.

Also, check your fuses and wiring for a problem there.

98 ford taurus headlights will not go off

either the headlight relay is stuck on. or the daytime running light module or relay is bad. to confirm find the relay center and switch the headlight relay out with another relay with the same part# on it. there should several in the relay center with the same part #. If this fixes the problem get a replacement relay. if not try switching out the relay for the daytime running lights. if no dice then unplug the daytime running light module.
