Blend door actuator is mounted on top of ductwork behind glove compartment.Remove glove compartment to access it.Some glove compartments can be released by pressing in on each side and just let door hang down.
Right side or left ? Electronic Automatic Temperature Control or manual ? Temperature or mode door ?
Temperature Blend Door Actuator - LH
Removal and Installation NOTE: It is not required to install the new LH temperature blend door linkage parts included in the LH temperature blend door actuator service part kit if only the temperature blend door actuator requires replacement and the linkage parts are not broken or binding. LH temperature blend door actuator and linkage
Remove the 2 lower steering column opening cover bolts.
Detach the lower steering column opening cover.
Disconnect the in-vehicle temperature sensor aspirator hose and electrical connector.
Position the instrument panel wire harness away from the LH temperature blend door actuator.
Remove the 3 LH temperature blend door actuator screws.
Disconnect the LH temperature blend door actuator electrical connector.
Remove the LH temperature blend door actuator.
Manually operate, and inspect the LH temperature blend door linkage for incorrect placement, binding or damage.
Temperature Blend Door Actuator - RH, Dual-Zone EATC
Removal and Installation NOTE: It is not required to install the new RH temperature blend door linkage parts included in the RH temperature blend door actuator service part kit if only the temperature blend door actuator requires replacement and the linkage parts are not broken or binding. RH temperature blend door actuator and linkage
Disconnect the glove compartment damper from the glove compartment.
Remove the glove compartment.
Remove the RH lower instrument panel insulator.
Remove the RH lower floor console trim panel.
Remove the 3 RH temperature blend door actuator screws.
Disconnect the RH temperature blend door actuator electrical connector.
Remove the RH temperature blend door actuator.
Manually operate, and inspect the RH temperature blend door linkage for incorrect placement, binding or damage.
Mode Door Actuator - Defrost/Panel/Floor Door
Removal and Installation NOTE: The defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator can be accessed from below the driver side of the instrument panel. NOTE: It is not required to install the new defrost/panel/floor mode door linkage parts included in the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator service part kit if only the mode door actuator requires replacement and the linkage parts are not broken or binding. Mode door actuator and linkage
Remove the 3 defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator screws.
Disconnect the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator electrical connector.
Remove the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator.
Manually operate, and inspect the defrost/panel/floor mode door linkage for incorrect placement or damage.
Mode door actuator linkage only
Remove the mode door linkage.
Depress the tab and remove the panel door lever.
Remove the floor/defrost door intermediate lever screw and floor/defrost door intermediate lever.
Pull straight outward to remove the floor/defrost door lever.
Mode door actuator and linkage
NOTE: When installing the mode door actuator, make sure that the panel door lever and floor/defrost intermediate lever are correctly aligned with the mode door actuator cam.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
The most common cause of this is that you have a stuck air temperature control blend door, this can be a motor actuator issue or a jammed door or both (common). To replace both parts you will need to completely remove the dash from the car to access the blend door.
I think this may be the heater/AC air temperature control blend door actuator motor gears slipping over teeth, this is due to a sticking blend door that is hard for the electric motor to move due to heat warping. Remove the dash and replace them is my advice.
check to see if the blend door is moving where you change the temperature setting. I think your blend door is behind the glove box. Here are instructions for removing the actuator. Take it off, plug it back in and see if the motor rotates. Also check to see if you can rotate the blend door by hand. If you can rotate it by hand, the motor is probably broken of the gears are stripped. Let me know if you have questions.
Release the stops and lower the glove compartment door.
Disconnect the connector.

Remove the two screws. Rotate the blend door actuator and bracket assembly. Remove the electronic blend door actuator and bracket assembly.
no it doesnt ... check out heatertreaters.net if you have to replace the blend doors .... but the actuator is directly behind the glove box...remove the glove box take out 3 screws and remove actuator and replace.....waa laa
there is a blend door actuator for the laredo and if is bad the air wont come out here is a pic of what it looks like and how to get to it
The single zone heater-A/C system is equipped with a single blend door actuator. The dual zone system has two blend door actuators, one for the driver side blend-air door and one for the passenger side blend-air door.
Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
Remove the glove box from the instrument panel.
Remove the three screws that secure the blend door actuator to the passenger side of the HVAC air distribution housing .
Remove the blend door actuator from the air distribution housing and disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector from the actuator.
Remove the blend door actuator from the vehicle
to instal
Position the blend door actuator into the vehicle.
Install the blend door actuator onto the passenger side of the HVAC air distribution housing . If necessary, rotate the actuator slightly to align the splines on the actuator output shaft with those on the blend door cam .
Install the screws that secure the blend door actuator to the passenger side of the air distribution housing . Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
Connect the HVAC wire harness connector to the blend door actuator.
