I let car sit in garage over winter starting it sparingly and had no problems with it starting. Untill I tried starting it to actually drive it and nothing. I bought vats bypass module and still nothing. Im not sure where to go from here
Check starter relay for proper power and operation. Underneath drivers dash area
I got the relay out of the god forsaken tiny space. Is there anyway to test them to see if that was my problem. I hope its not with a multi meter back up in there.
and thank you for your help this has been driving me crazy 2 weeks
The relay should be a 4 pin relay. Using a 12volt test light connected to a ground with the relay removed, there should be two terminals with a power supply. One constant and one with the key on. THe other two terminals are for a constant ground and supply to the starter solenoid which will also produce a ground. If you quickly jump one of the powers to the terminal that goes to the starter, the starter should work if wiring from relay to starter is ok. If younare not on the right terminal, it will spark and possibly blow a fuse as this will be the direct ground side. If you can see the wiring behind the relay,it will be the purple wire that goes to the starter and that one will be the one that you supply direct power to. If still nothing happens,it may be astarter motor problem. You can try tapping on the starter with a blunt object while holding the key in the start position. If the starter works or tries to work while doing this, suspect a bad starter motor.
Ps.. Make sure you a dealing with a fully charged battery and not chasing your tail on this one.
Good call. Can the starter still be bad if I got it to crank from jumping that purple wire.
NO.... If the starter turns when you jump it.... it is good. This tells me there is no power to it from the relay on the purple wire. It is also possible there is a piece in the purple wire from the relay to the starter that is bad, although, unlikely. Also, try starting the vehicle with the gear shift in the neutral position ( if automatic transmission ) as the neutral safety switch could be an issue as well.
If standard tranny, try crossing the clutch switch contacts ( make sure relay is plugged back in )to see if that helps
It is an automatic. I tried putting it in neutral to start before i took that relay out still nothing happens. Would this mean the neutral safety switch is good?
Not necessarily... If it did start in neutral then you could consider this switch to be defective. I am sending a wiring diagram of the system to hopefully help track down the problem

Switched out the starter relay still nothing made sure I charged battery before I did this.
If I could jump starter then that should mean my grounds are good right?
Yes, If you can jump starter, battery power and grounds are ok. You need to determine if there are 2 power supplies at the relay. One constant and one with key in on position in order for the relay to operate.
If key is in on position
Soo I'm replacing the ignition switch I highly doubt that is the problem tho if u think of anything else that could be the problem please let me know ... Tested the relay terminal and is ok
Doubtful the ignition switch is the problem. If the relay has the two required powers and constant ground the ignition switch should be good. Have you tried jumping the relay using one of the powers to the start wire on the other relay terminal? The power comes out of the relay and then goes to the neutral safety switch and then to the starter motor Maybe have a look at the neutral safety switch to make sure the connections are tight and the wiring is not burned/melted in the connector. You can even try tapping on the neutral safety switch lightly with something to see if it could be a possible internal connection problem within the switch. Hope this helps
