I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.7L Hemi 100,000 miles, throwing a P2098 code. Already replaced the Cats, O2 sensors and computer. Had a vacuum test put on it and supposedly read normal. Help!

Have you actually looked at scan data to see what the o2 sensor is doing? If the front sensor is not indicating a lean condition, the rear one on the same bank should not indicate a prolonged lean condition either. If you have replaced all you have said, make sure there is no exhaust leak before the sensor. It is possible to have a defective sensor right out of the package and this is why I suggest to look at scan data to make sure the sensor is correct on what it tells the computer.

Scan data showed bank 2 sensor 1 running 44%. I replaced both the upstream sensors again and code has returned. Also found that the clutch for the fan had gone out. Fixed that too. Money Pit! I was thinking of trading it in and getting a new truck but I'm not really ready to pull the trigger right now. Also seems like everything on the market is junk now.

MAke sure you dont use cheap sensors and they have to be NTK or NGK or you will continue to have problems. Trust me. Just went through this and changed everything possible. WAs the aftermarket sensors. USe Mopar or NGK or NTK

ALso when you have changed them, disconnect batter for several minute to clear the PCM. if you dont it will continue to use the data from the time you ran the sensors with issues and try to adjust according to that. It needs to reset and start reading new data from new sensors.

check for vacuum leaks or a faulty mass air flow sensor. all the codes have to do with engine too lean(too much air).

I have a 2004 Dodge 1500 5.7L Hemi 4WD that is throwing a P0135 Code. Can anyone please explain how to find and repair the issue? I have already replaced the 1/1 O2 sensor thinking it was a bad O2 sensor.

Here's a link to your code. It's screw into bank one on exhaust manifold. Here's a link to your firing order,it shows cylinder one(bank1)is on driver side which means it's the oxygen sensor on that side exhaust manifold. Here's the part.Easy to remove, disconnect connector, get open end wrench and remove.

My 99ram2500 bucks an missfires but if i remove cap from vacumm system it runs better

No-- it does not run better

Your letting in unmetered air & the oxygen
sensor sees that & the computer adds fuel
& your rpm goes up for awhile

Are the spark plugs over 3 years old?
Is the fuel pressure at motor correct
Does the misfire set a PO300 code
Does the check light stay lite or blink
Is the egr system working as it should
Any vacuum leaks,exhaust,evap system,
intake.
O2 Sensors over 100,000 miles,front ones
PCV vacuum leaks

See if you can get a road test with a professional
scan tool along & look at cylinder misfire counts &
fuel trim

2005 dodge ram 1500 hemi. will set code 0132 when starting only some times. O2 replaced both sides.

Try changing the coolant temp sensor, it determines when the ECU shifts from open loop (cold) to closed loop(hot)

My 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi 5.7L V8 is running two codes PO175 fuel system rich 2/1 and PO131 O2 Sensor circuit 1/1 low does this mean I need new o2 sensors or what?

faulty O2 sensors will throw a lot of things out of whack so start there, allow diagnostic reboot, drive and check codes again...

Where is the o2 sensor on a 1500 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.7 litre hemi

On most newer vehicles, there are either 2 or 4 sensors. There should be at least 1 upstream sensor between the engine and convertor, and the other one is down stream after the convertor.

Vehicles with dual cats or dual exhaust sometimes have a pair for each side. Look near the convertors..........

I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus with just under 80,000 miles on the odometer. I recently got a P2098 error in the car. I replaced the 02 sensor and reset the computer. Now the code is back. Did i miss...

This would refer to the "down stream" sensor, which would be past the catalytic convertor. You may also have an exhaust leak near the cat, contaminated fuel or maybe even low fuel pressure.

I have a 2004 dodge with 5.7 hemi the engine warning light comes on and then will go out and a couple of days later will come on agaian and stay on for a while. someone told me that the oxygen sensors are...

How many miles are on the truck usually around 100000 miles you will need to replace the O2 sensors not hard to do the engine wont stop but fuel mileage will begin to drop and power will start to go down. You may not notice the power drop to much are the fuel mileage drop. To find out if it is indeed the O2 sensors take it to auto zone they will put a tester on it and tell you what it needs. Good luck o and they wont charge you anything for the test.

2003 dodge ram 1500 hemi 4x4, no power or throttle response!

I also have an '03 Ram 1500 with the Hemi, and I too noticed that the throttle system definitely sucks. The issue lies with Chrysler opting for speed density instead of mass air flow, which is what the Hemi should have. I landed an a chatroom that had a procedure to try to fix the throttle response. Simple procedure.
1. turn the Ram on, but don't start.
2. wait 7 -10 seconds for onboard diagnostics to cycle and finish.
3. press the accelerater to the floor, using moderate leg speed and then let up.
4. shut Ram off, wait 10 seconds.
5. start up

After using this procedure, my Ram finally accelerated like a Hemi Ram should. The chatroom said that for some reason, this won't work on every Hemi Ram, but since you don't hook up into the computer, it's worth a shot.
Best of luck!
