Sometimes the ratchet assembly goes bad in the seat belt assembly or the belt itself gets twisted inside the mechanism. You can look with a flashlight and inspect for a twisted belt. Sometimes using a screwdriver and poking at the ratchet assembly will cause it to release and make the belt function again. If not, replacement is on the horizon

SOURCE: The driver side seat belt will get locked and not pull out far enough to buckle. We have tried pulling it very slowly. It will eventually pull out far enough after about 30 tries

The locking trigger may be too close to the ratchet teeth.

Middle seat belt buckle tip for booster seats, car seats, and large humans.

In trying to fit a booster seat into my 2004 Honda CR-V, I realized that the CRV has the belt buckle in the middle of the seat. This is a big problem for someone using a child seat in the middle seat as the buckle receptacle is completely covered by the booster seat. I thought about buying an extender but realized it wouldn't completely solve the problem. After much thought I came to the conclusion that the buckle receptacle could be moved to a new location without compromising any safety of the belt. I first pulled the buckle receptacle all the way out and then cut the fabric to enlarge the hole from which it protrudes from the seat. Then I pushed it through the hole and back into the seat with the head pointing towards the window and outer edge of the seat. After flipping the window seat out of the way I was able to peel the fabric away from the bottom edge of the middle seat enough to reach in and retrieve the belt receptacle. It was a little tight but I was able to buckle the belt and use the seat belt to pull the receptacle through this new "hole" and VOLIA the belt receptacle is now in a better position to the side of the middle seat. You can now used a booster or car seat or put a fully grown human in this seat and buckle with ease.

I have an audi a3 tdi sport 2003 the seat belt won't pull over enough for it to buckle in to get it fastened any idea on how to fix it

I think the seat belt have a twist and it went into the seat belt housing. Pull the seat belt all the way out hard and un do the twist and let it go back into the seat belt housing. This should fix this problem

Seat belt sensor goes on and off as your driving with all seat belts on

Look for garbage in the drivers seat buckle.

Make sure there is no heavy weight in the passenger seat.

You likely need a seat buckle, but could be wiring.

2005 jaguar type-s. How can i disable the belt minder. The seatbelt alrm is making me crazy

To enable or disable the seat belt warning chime on your 2005 Jaguar Type S

1. Ensure the front passenger seat is unoccupied.

NOTE:

Steps two to five must be completed within 60 seconds.

2. Turn the ignition to the RUN position (do not start the engine).

3. Buckle the driver safety belt buckle and wait until the seat belt warning lamp extinguishes.

4. Unbuckle the driver safety belt buckle and wait until the seat belt warning lamp illuminates.

5. Repeat Steps three and four a further eight times.

6. When the driver safety belt buckle is unbuckled for the ninth time a single chime will be heard. The single chime is acknowledgement that the beltminder feature has been disabled.

The beltminder feature will be disabled until the above process (Steps one to six) are repeated. Upon repeating the process the beltminder feature will be reactivated
