You can safely drive with this light on. it will be like driving a car without traction control. some also shut off the ABS system(anti-lock brakes) but again its like driving without this system like cars use to be before all this new options came out.

When I start the car ASC Tract not available ,and Trac Not available . Can I safely drive the car, I started the car and tried to take Trac Off but the system lights were still on

you have a code in the system that controls the TRAC system have it checked, its not the same computer that controls engine. if its intermitant problem it will be hard to find but the TRAC system will set a code and light.

I have a 2003 Jaguar XJR V8 Supercharge, and the ASC trac not available and Failsafe engine mode sign came on. The car engine shut down and I was able to restart the car, it happened when the car was...

As most likely know the engine in your Jag is controlled by a computer, when it senses a serious fault in any of the systems it monitors it can trigger a shut down with a restart, the shut down and needed restart is the same as rebooting a computer for a problem that has occurred in the system. What must be done now is to have the local dealer or a very well equipped shop run a scan of the computers memory, there will be fault codes stored for they event and warning lights. So get it tested.

My 2000 Jaguar XJ8 has several different warning lights on. Trac, ASC, and Transmission. Then the amber engine symbol came on. The car died while I was driving and it started again. Am I safe to...

42 miles with a jaguar. First I love Jaguars. Youll get to your home by a tow truck. The car is talking to you say its sick. Here is what will happen, The TRAC, ASC, light is on okay the APP will now go to limp home mode what this mean it will default giving limited operations, youll probable just go 30mph, and that is just it. The transmission does not know what gear or how fast its going so it communicates to the powertrain it tell it I dont know what Im doing so it activates the traction control and say keep me safe the traction control say okay Ill get disable, then the transmission control tell the powertrain I could be burning up or slipping. So The APP(acclerator pedal position ) gets involved and say we will just limp on home.Remeber i love juguars so does tow trucks

Asc trac control not available light comes on

the ABS controller (the box that hooks up to the ABS pump) is bad.
There are 2 plugs. The top one has a sort of slider that you pull up to disconnect the plug, the bottom one is a bit tricker, but keep fiddling, it will come off. The next fun part is the 4 FEMALE TORX fasteners that hold the box on. You'll need this socket (it's a T5 female IIRC) to remove the box. Be careful fishing it through the brake lines. Remove the unit and send it to ASI inc. 423-921-9085,
212 e. Washington St, Rogersville TN, 37857. They will rebuild your unit for $55 and a lifetime guarantee, and you can drive the car while the unit is out being serviced. You'll have the ABS, CHECK ENGINE, ASC/TRAC NOT AVAILABLE AND LOW BRAKE FLUID lights in, and your handbrake light will also be gone. When you get the unit back, disconnect the battery reinstall the unit, connect the batter and erase the codes (I cleared mine with a cheapo PepBoys model) PROBLEM SOLVED.! These ABS controllers are cheap POS parts made in the Phillipines....I'd settle for LUCAS any day.

My ASC+T Indicator Lamp lights and car can't move...

When your ASC light is on this is to let you know your Automatic Stability Control system is switched off press the ASC button Till light is off /ASC is on this works with your rev limiter and should stabilized your idle. If the problem persists have your throttle control unit checked as this can trigger the ASC light as well and may also activate the ABS light if not fixed
