I would agree with the comment by David Harrelson.
It's unlikely that your alternator is the cause. If you disconnected the alternator your vehicle would still run until the battery power dropped ..
The fact that your jeep stood for 3 weeks may point at a possible answer ... fuel. It sounds as though it isn't getting through in sufficient quantity to keep the engine ticking over. The fuel in the pipelines may have dropped and air is in the system.
Make sure your battery is fully charged, start your jeep and 'hoof it' .. rev it hard. If the engine cuts out, keep repeating the process. Force those injectors to open and spray fuel into the chambers.
Alternatively 'crack open' the fuel line from the pump and spin the engine ... bleed the air out. Then repeat with the injectors, if possible.
Alternatively alternatively ... get a friend to tow start you. An automatic will fire up (2nd gear) once it reaches 25mph
Remember: Your jeep was working fine until parked up. It's something very simple that's causing the cutting-out
Is battery fully charged? These new fuel injection cars are very sensitive to battery status.
