Can someone tell me what else I need to do to my 06 Pontiac G6 GTP I have changed the shift solenoids in the transmission but my odometer is reading error and it still isn't shifting correctly

Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop .

Odometer
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) contains a season odometer and a trip odometer. Momentarily press the trip/reset switch in order to toggle between the season odometer and the trip odometer. Press the trip/reset switch for greater than 2 seconds, while the trip odometer is displayed, in order to reset the trip odometer. The odometer is calculated and stored electronically in the body control module (BCM). The BCM uses the vehicle speed information from the powertrain control module (PCM) to calculate the odometer. The odometer displays 'error' if an internal IPC memory failure is detected. The IPC stores a backup copy of the odometer value incase the IPC stops receiving a valid odometer value from the BCM.

Hooking up a scan tool to check codes Would the first step . A professional scan tool , one that can read codes in IPC / BCM . Auto zone can't check these , nor advance ,nor o' Reilly part stores You have no idea of the complexity of the electronics on that vehicle .

2008 Highlander Maint Req'd reset proceedure

This is the reset proceedure for a 2008 Highlander with a key-type ignition:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.

Pt cruiser wont start. checked battery, starter , releighs and ignition, and they seem fine. no codes come up when turning the key 3 times

To do self diag on a pt u need to start with ignition off. Hold trip button in for the odometer keeping trip button held down turn ignition key to run then release trip. This will also run a self test on instrument cluster. Codes will be displayed in the odometer at the end of test

(you will find the answer you are looking for in resetting your maintenance light.)
with the odometer reading visible, (not trip A or trip B..) turn off engine.

While keeping Odo/trip button depressed, turn ignition back on (not starting the engine) You will see dashes (instead of numbers) on your odometer disappearing one at a time. it will be replaced by 0's (zeros).. Release the Odo/trip button and your original mileage will come up....
And your done..... until the next oil change.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck
