You have a problem with your blend door actuator. Every year, twice a year, my husband manually moves the blend door actuator and puts a tie wrap on it so it will stay in either the heat or cool position. You can reach this through the glovebox, which you will need to remove. I had this fixed at the dealer once long, long ago - very expensive because the plastic piece that needs replacing means they must remove the seats and the whole dash area including the steering wheel to properly replace what is broken. spray your door lock with dw40. sounds like the sensor in your door frame is not making correct contact. look on your door frame. all door frames. and see if you can spot any torn rubber or anything that could cause the sensor to not correctly close

you need to replace the scil module, ie steering column ignition lighting module... also check all the fuese to the scil, in the inside fuse panel there are multiple fuses that control the scil and the lights. the response you got above is not from a lincoln mar viii owner, the scil is a common problem
