Check the charging system you might have a bad or weak altenator you should have 14 volts of the battery with the engine running good luck anytime a battery run below 12 volts the fuel pump loses pressure causing it to stall remember you alway have to have 14 volts r the engine will stall

You get a code? Could be cam position sensor, perhaps.

Fuel pump intermittent, check for fuel pressure before dropping the tank to renew pump.
Otherwise check electrical connection at battery, and make sure you do not have an open circuit.
Loss of connectivity could cause this issue, failed fuel pump sometimes work, but are not reliable.
You should see 30-45 psi at fuel rail, and the regulator should bump pressure 5 psi when reving the motor. Higher pressure indicates failed regulator.

Probably need to set the idle a bit higher. That keeps the RPM of the motor high enough that it won't stall when you come to a stop.

Most common cause of stalling for Lincolns in that era is the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). It regulates fuel mixture, idle speed etc. A bad TPS will usually act up in one of two ways:

1. When cold, car continually stalls
2. When warm, car stalls when slowing down (especially if AC is on)

As far as valve cover oil leak, it's a problem that should be addressed to keep oil from fouling your spark plugs but highly unlikely to be the cause of your stalling problem. Hope this answers your question. All the best.

Check ecm for part number 1228253. If it has this number in it replace it with a 16198264. Gm had trouble with that ecm for a cutting off problem. Mine would stall driving down the road and when I would put it neutral it would start back up and not have any trouble for the rest of the day. You must set the tps with a volt meter or scan tool.
