I have a vibration when i put it in drive, seems to go away after i get going doesnt vibrate in reverse

Put it in neutral when going 40 to 55 mph

If the noise goes away, you have a 75% chance your
going to rebuild the trans

If the vibration goes away when you let off the gas, it's definitely a ujoint. Best check them again. I see this is an old post. Maybe you have it fixed by now.

I think this was posted once before but it is either the torque converter or the harmonic balancer

recheck balance and inspect threads can have a possible bad thread belt on tire

It's your exhaust mounts or broken exhaust bolts. It does it in drive st idle n under load because the motor is sitting in rubber mounts made to dampen vibration. Therefore the motor tilts to the left in reverse pulling the exhaust away from your under carraige, and to the right in drive causing the loose exhaust to vibrate against something. Check your heat shields also. They fall apart n do the same noise. Piece of cake.

check unversal on drive shaft. put in neutral and shake drive shaft

Get the engine mounts checked. A bad mount may allow part of the engine to lie on a body or frame part, allowing engine vibrations to become very loud. Torquing of the engine (under load) can cause the same type problems.

check the motor motor mounts for movement,
watch how far engine rocks forward or back with it running and foot on brake

check serpentine belt tenssioner

Turn off engine . get the vehicle on level ground. try to move driveshaft back an forth or,by rocking in twist motion,,, try to hear a knock,,,this would indicate a worn universal joint.either front or back, if you are good enough to discern which one is making the klunk, change both to be on the safe side. think they may be about 20 dol apiece.
