What caused the tracking control light to turn on?

if its a constant then check out abs sensor -hub for damage or need of replacement if happens on occasion than its doing what its suppose to and that is to reduce power so as not to cause a roll over or slid of vehicle if the vehicle senses to fast a turn or wheel slide will reduce power (traction control)

Are many reasons for these lights to turn on, usually the check engine light is the main cause, when it turns on it will turn the other lights on as well as those systems become disabled when the engine control computer sees a problem.

The first step would be to retrieve the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the ECM (Engine Control Module) you can actually have this done at no charge at many of the larger autoparts stores such as Autozone or other Autoshop with OVD scanner reader. Note this code numbers and then reply here so I can help diagnose what the problem may be and what to do.

Whenever these warning lights are on it is indicating that the computer control module in the system has detected a fault and disabled the systems. In order to discover what has caused the fault or faults you must have the system scanned with a special electronic system scanner, either a dealer or a good brake shop can do this test.

Most likely this will be caused by a bad wheel sensor. They only way to find out which wheel sensor that is causing your trouble is to take it to a qualified shop that has the right electronics for an abs system. This wheel sensor controls traction control, abs braking, and also will throw a check engine light as well when it goes bad.

Your traction control switch may be located on center IP fascia. below the front a/c control switch. Pls check your manual. You can turn it on or off and it will indicate visually on the insrument panel cluster. Normally the default mode is off,(traction light off) meaning the traction system is enabled and operational. If the light comes on while the engine is running and even without touching the switch, it only means that your traction control system have been disabled because the system has detected a fault; you can still run and proceed carefully in good brakes without the traction control system..However' you still need to have your vehicle scanned for codes to know the specific cause.

outside edge will wear on passenger side --- power steering causes this ,but if both tyres are wearing then have it tracked with a good old fashioned type tracking bar ,these laser things are only as good as the operator ,if it shows up as parallel then you could have worn bushes on the track control arm,is this vehicle subject to a annual vehicle mechanical inspection like in europe or just an emmisions test american style

If your ets light is on, it just means the traction control has been disabled due to a problem within the system. It will do no damage but you will be without any traction control and possible abs if that light is on too.

This is the automatic traction control system kicking it when going around corners. Vehicle may think tires are sliding around corners kicking in the traction control. If you don't like traction control, you should have a button to turn it off, or remove the fuse.

speed sensor on your wheel you have one for each side ,the car does a check usually when you first take off.could be the connector to it also when mine went out got the big three =trac off,abs,and service light.a diagnostic should tell you which one is the problem,hope this helps
