SOURCE: heavy exhaust smell when idling or warming up the

most likely an o2 sensor is bad...but if it were bad, it should throw the check engine light before long, if it already hasnt. the oxygen sensor is what makes the air/fuel ratio mixture, thus if its bad depending on which one, either the vehicle will run way tooo lean, or way to rich therefore smelling raw fuel when running at idle. hope this helps

SOURCE: why does my 2003 chevy impala not start on the first attempt?

A dustry road would not affect the fuel filter. You need to supply more exact details of what it takes to get it started.

SOURCE: strong gas smell inside of car

is there a leak in your fuel line, or possibly your fuel filter, if you see raw gas leaking, then it is dangerous for you tio continue to drive it, it only takes one spark to ignite it, however, if the smell is just your car burning rich and the exhaust has holes in it, it will smell up the inside of your car. And yes if your carb. is burning too rich then it needs adjusted. Wasting your fuel, and overloading your engine. I hope some of this was helpfull.

SOURCE: When I start my car or it idles I smell gas. What could cause this?

If the engine is running rich, you should have a check engine light on.
If you do, have the computer scanned for trouble codes.
It could be a fuel leak in the line or around the injectors too.

Smoke coming from the hood check engine light

Someone else's code may not help you as the light could come on for a number of reasons. Smoke under your hood could be due to a leak or leaks such as oil, coolant, power steering fluid and so on and as the engine gets hot the fluids will burn off on the hot engine or exhaust causing it to smoke. The smell when you turn the heat on could be because your heater core is leaking. This would be accompanied with low coolant levels, overheating and low heat especially at idle also the carpet may be wet. If your vehicle is equipped with a cabin air filter the smell could also come from there as leaves and other debris and sometimes even rodents can get in there. Also if you don't allow you evaporator to dry by shutting off the ac but letting the fan run for a couple of minutes the water on the evaporator can cause mold and mildew to grow giving you a funny smell as well. Hope this helps.

Funny smell like egg vinagar in focus 08 model started when sitting in traffic

I'm going to assume the smell was coming from the exhaust.
Sulfur smell is often caused by excess sulfur in gasoline or a problem with the emissions system on the car.
If the check engine light is not on, it could be the brand of gas you were burning at the time.

Lack of power, idles high, oil smells like gas, shifts funnymakes some type of pop, engine temp increases at stop

The oil smells like gas so most likely you have a bad head gasket. That will cause they car to overheat at stops and that will cause a funny smell. If it is blowing smoke that smells sweat then most likely it is your head gasket.

Lacking power, funny smell near exhaust and sputters and feels like it is going to stall when stopping for a red light.

Rotten egg smell is usually a bad converter. sweet smell is antifreeze meaning blown head gasket or worse.
