2001 expedition rear wiper and washer doesn't work. Front wash wipe work find What to do?

The washer fuse should have power (battery voltage) while the ignition switch is in the RUN position. Verify both sides of the fuse have power. If the rear wash functions them it's not the fuse.

The switch signals the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM energizes the front washer relay.

Input to BCM from switch is BCM connector C1,24 PK. Output from BCM to relay is connector C4 15 OG.

You need to verify continuity from the the switch to the BCM and from the BCM to the relay.

Rear Window Wiper Operation
The rear wiper motor is controlled by the SJB. The SJB supplies power to the rear wiper motor from the integrated rear wiper relay. The SJB will activate the relay when all of the following conditions are met:

• Ignition switch is in the ON position
• Liftgate glass and liftgate are closed
• Multi-function switch is in the ON or intermittent position

The SJB also supplies voltage to the rear wiper motor from SJB fuse 21 (15A) when the ignition switch is in the ON position. This power feed is used to continue the wipe cycle when the multi-function switch is turned to the OFF position. The SJB receives inputs from the multi-function switch that applies ground to the low speed wipe input or applies ground to the intermittent wipe input. When either of these circuits are grounded, the SJB activates the integrated rear wiper relay and power is supplied to the rear wiper motor to move the rear wiper motor from the park position. An internal switch in the rear wiper motor then moves to the run position which connects the accessory relay power to the rear wiper motor. When the rear wiper motor returns to the park position, the internal switch in the rear wiper motor moves back to the park position. If the multi-function switch is in the ON position, the rear wiper relay is still activated, power is supplied to the rear wiper motor, and the wipe cycle starts again. If the multi-function switch is in the intermittent position, the rear wiper relay does not activate until the predetermined dwell time has elapsed, at which time the SJB activates the rear wiper relay and the wipe cycle starts again. Rear Washer System
The SJB supplies power to the rear washer pump from fuse 21 (15A) when the ignition switch is in the ON or ACC position. The rear washer pump receives ground from the multi-function switch when the wash function is turned ON. The multi-function switch also signals the SJB when the rear wash is activated and the SJB then activates the rear wiper.

Principles of Operation

• Ignition switch
• Smart junction box (SJB)

Washer System
The windshield washer and the rear window washer are activated by the internal wiper motor modules when it receives a ground from the multi-function switch between the washer inputs. Depending on the correct ground, the internal wiper motor modules activate either the windshield washer or rear window washer relays (internal) by grounding the respective relay coil. When either module is activated, it connects voltage to the washer pump while the deactivated module provides ground to the washer pump. In this manner, voltage polarity is reversible to achieve directional change of the washer pump and washer fluid.

The power driver seat and power exterior mirrors are controlled by the driver seat module (DSM) only when the vehicle is equipped with the programmable/recall memory option.
On the Expedition Limited, the power fold exterior mirror option is controlled by the DSM. Before running a self-test or retrieving codes, the power fold switch must be inactive for at least 30 seconds.
This is a complex vehicle , electronics , control modules an serial data communication networks. You mite be better off taking it to the dealer or some other repair shop . There could be DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in the SJB - body control module !

The rear wiper motor assembly may be defective/seized. You can try turning on the rear wiper and moving the wiper arm with your hand to see if it will move even a little bit. If you can coax it to move, the wiper motor is bad and needs replacement. If it doesn't move, you will have to disassemble the rear hatch panels and test the motor directly for power and ground.

check the linkages at your wiper motor. check the wires for power to the motor.

I had the same problem. I thought it was an issue with a blown fuse, but also noticed that the rear wiper was very stiff.
I solved it by opening the rear window (so the wiper is not clicked into the motor) then squirt some WD40 into the wiper mechanism (I put the oil in from the outside). Gently move the wiper from side to side until it starts to free up - after a couple of movements the wiper should be moving freely again. No issues since.

At the same time, check that the washer jet is correctly angled. Mine was squirting directly into the wiper which may have caused it to rust up a bit.

Sounds like a problem within the wiper motor not turning off at rest or not reaching it's rest point to be able to turn itself off, probably needs a new motor. Disconnecting it should have no relation to the front washer operation, you can confirm this by reconnecting the wiper motor to try.

it is more likely the wiper switch has bad contacts or the washer pump is defective, go to the pump and have someone hold wash and check for a 12 volt sigal at the washer fluid pump, if no siganl replace the wiper/washer switch, and if u do have the signal at the pump then the pump is defective.

1. check the fuse to the rear wiper motor
2. check for power to rear wiper motor at the motor (power wire going in to the wiper motor with rear wiper switch on)
If you have good fuses & have power going in to the rear wiper motor...
3. Pull old rear wiper motor and install a new rear wiper motor.
