All Chrysler products (dodge caravan) require "atf +"
in your case being a 2003 that should be type ATF+3
I would recommend using ATF+4 as a just in case measure as it will be perfectly compatability with (and better than) ATF+3 if that's what is currently installed.
The Trans in the 03 caravan takes 11 total quarts. This includes torque converter. If you are doing a simple fluid and filter change than start w with 5 quarts as will still be full. Absolutely under NO circumstances use dextron/mercon (gm) OR ATF type F (ford). Hope this helps.

SOURCE: need to know what type

To really get the correct answer, I personnally
would go to a dealer, not call them,go to the
parts dept, give them your VIN and get the
correct answer.

Then you can go where ever you want for the fluid

What type of tranny fluid for a 2008 Ford ranger XLT 2.3 dohc 5speed manual

Manual gear boxes use gear oil, automatic boxes transmission fluid.
Check your owners manual or contact your Ford dealership for advice.

Number quarts transmission to fill transmission on 2003 ford escort zx2 2.0 doc

The total dry fill spec says 6.9 quarts, automatic tranny.
Now, if the torque converter hasn't been drained, my info says 5.7 quarts. So, how much fluid it takes, depends. If you keep a watch on your tranny dip stick, you should be ok.
When you think it is full, engine at operating temp, shift through all the gears, then check dip stick, again, you may have to add a little, I don't know. Just my opinion.
I got the info from specifications guide for your vehicle. Your owners manual may have fluid capacities. If you don't have owners manual, fleet.ford.com may have your owners manual. Scroll down the page on the site, click on owners manual, type in year--make--model. Hopefully it is there.

How many quarts of trans fluid does a 2000 ford explorer v6 need

Did you check your trans dip stick? The tranny dip stick usually has a quart low mark. If this is a manual tranny, that is different, you didn't specify automatic or manual tranny?
{Automatic tranny, the spec is for dry fill, only. 10--12.7 quarts . Dry fill means not a drop of tranny fluid in the vehicle.}
You have to check proper fluid level, that is your responsibility. Your owners manual may have some of this info?

Where does the transmission fluid go

The automatic transmission fluid is added through the hole that the dipstick fits into on the end of the tranny. It is recommended that you do a complete change of the fluid at 40,000 mile intervals for the tranny to shift correctly. You need a long funnel and my owners manual for 1994 eagle summit ES says 6.3 quarts of ATF+3. If it's a manual tranny you use 75w-90 GL4 hypoid gear oil 1.9 Quarts.

Where is the fill hole 6 speed manual tranny in my 09 wrangler and what type of fluid does it take

That information should be in your owners manual. I know that the manuals for the Cherokees I have owned have that kind of info in them. I found the below on a Jeep forum but I can not vouch for this information:

"The following products are MS-9224 compliant:
• Chrysler synchomesh fluid #4874464
• Penzoil Synchromesh Fluid #18106
• Quakerstate Synchromesh Fluid #59634
• GM synchromesh fluid #12345349
• GM synchromesh fluid 12345577
• Havoline MTX fluid #1874

Can i drain the transmission fluid on a 05 suzuki forenza my self?

yes. HOWEVER, whe you refill it. make sure that you put in the correct type of oil. refer to your owner manual prior to putting in any old automatice trranny fluid as some tranny's require a sopecial type of oil, put in the wrong one and you fry your transmission. If its a standard, put in the correct weight of gear oil. Not trying to scare you, but i want to make sure that your REFER TO YOUR OWNERS MANUAL for the correct type of oil to put in after you drain it.

good luck.

92 thunderbird transmission slipping, its about a half of a quart low. would this cause it to slip and what type of fluid do you use?

Absolutely; Automatic transmissions will slip for a number of factors but the the #1 cause is low fluid level closely followed by very old and brown fluid. Recomended fluid is MerconDexronII. Best of luck.

1997 Dodge Cummings Deisel 1 ton.

It should take a dextron 3 tranny fluid. But refer to the owners manual to make sure. Also, your tranny dipstick is, is where you will add fluid. Look at the bottom of the dipstick. Sometimes the fluid type is labeled there also..
