Reattach the wires and buy a wiring kit you can pick one up at Walmart now or any car part store for about $20. They're color coded and let's you wire up any radio in 5 min. Worth the money and keeps you from shorting out your radio or other circuits.

I haven't cut a radio harness since the early 90s no need to anymore. Good luck

SOURCE: installing after market stereo

Dave,

You will need to go buy a wiring harness adapter from your local Walmart (usually cheapest there) or Local Electronics place (ie Best Buy). The wire harness that goes out from the radio goes into the Adapter and the adapter plugs into the car harnesses. Also these Adapters come with the wiring diagrams for your vehicle. They typically run 10 - 15 bucks depending on where you get them. Thanks for using FixYa!

Sincerely,

JC

SOURCE: aftermarket stereo wiring harness does not fit oem

Theres a standard amongst most stereos, so if these colors apply, then you will be right,
Red is Ignition power
orange is direct power
Black is earth
blue is for phone
White is for electric arial
then there will be four coloured wires with matching color trace wires, these are the speaker wires.
Hope this gets you going, good luck.

And also having a hard time understanding any of the diagrams that I find or anything like that so I just need one that's very simple that I can use to put my wiring harness back together

Hello Shawna

You appear to be a bit confused how Fixya works. You asked a question to someone that ANSWERED a question from WAAAY back in 2014. That doesn't work.

What also doesn't work is posting 3 questions all covering the same same subject and saying 'And also having a hard time understanding...'. The reason is that his question has no context to you previous ones, because question are no threaded or nested by poster.

https://www.fixya.com/users/shawna-fuller

Make one question. The first 3 words need to be 'year make model'. There are 10,000 categories listed by 'make year model'.

If you have a wiring issue and can't read wiring diagrams. For a simple cut wires scenario, this might help, or you can go to an auto electrician or a wiring / alarm installer.

96 Pathfinder. I want to Install a flat four trailer connector

It's easiest to buy a T-One Connector. No need to cut wires, it will plug in to your factory harness and give you a flat 4 connector.
