How to stop black smoke coming out of the exhaust

Put 93 octane gas in it. If it's blowing black smoke then the valves are really dirty and the 93 octane will clean the intake and exhaust valves off. Make sure and run it almost out of gas so the old gas doesn't mix with the new.

Blue smoke is an indication that you are burning oil. This typically happens through the rings on the pistons but can also be caused from valves. If the vehicle is running ok then it is most likely blowing by the rings. The vehicle probably has high miles and the way to stop the blue smoke is replacing the rings which can get very expensive. This does not mean that the vehicle will tear up tomorrow though.

What can i do? my galant is blowing black smoke at my tail pipe

Black smoke is indicative of a car running rich meaning more fuel than can be burned is entering the cylinder. Some causes of this condition are a bad fuel pump, a bad PCM, and more likely a leaking injector. Check the oil to make sure there is no raw fuel smell present. Look at the injectors first as this is a common cause of the problem.
