I'm changing the spark plugs on my 2004 Toyota Sequoia 4.7 V8 this weekend. I've never changed spark plugs on an import. Is there anything special I need to know? What is the procedure?

You may have knocked off o wire to a sensor. Hook up a scanner to see which one.

You need a OBD2 scan tool to reset the codes.A cheap code reader is only $20

You can use the platinum plugs, they will last about 60,000 miles while the iridium last about 100K miles, that's about the only difference.

Change the spark plug wires.

try to recheck the spark plug distribution cable arrangement otherwise check your spark plug may be one of it is short or the gap is not proper.

The factory recommendation for oil changes is every 5,000 miles; that is based on normal driving.

If you are operating the vehicle in mountainous terrain, or towing a trailer, we would recommend changing the oil every 3,500 miles.

Transmission 2.1qts

Front diff 1.2qts takes 75w-90 Hypoid gear oil
Rear diff 3.9 qts of 75w-90 synthetic oil

Transfer case 1.3 qts of a Hypoid gear oil API GL-4 or GL-5

HI- Most manufacturers reccomend replacement at 90k, 180k, etc. Variables include other parts that may need replacing during these belt changes. Water pumps and timing belts should be purchased from the DEALERSHIP, regardless of who does work. This is proper, normal cost of maintaining your sequoia. Complete inspections and labor should be completed by mechanic familiar w/Toyota vehicles. Parts may run 150-250$. Labor depends on who ya know.- Hope this helps- Thanks- ED

You need to remove the coil packs that are located above the valve cover. It is important to get the correct spark plugs from toyota. Aftermarket plugs are not recommended.

have you changed the oil sending unit, this is the most probable cause.
