evacuate the a/c system,separate the high side line where the orfice tube is located,pull the old tube out of line. lubricate the new orfice o-ring with a/c oil,push into the line,reconnect the line be sure to replace the o-rings at the connection.pull a vacuum on the a/c system for at least 30 minutes,then recharge the system.
Hello chericegodea: My name is Rpger and I will help you. The orfice tube is located in the liquid len at the evaporater coce. This will be the small diametor linn at the firewall. Seperate the fittings at the firewall and look inside the tube that comes through the firewall. The object you see will be the orfice tube. Make sure the A/C has been recoverd or that the system has no pressure as there could be a dangerousexscape og freon and gas. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. For a 2002 ford expedition the ac orfice tube is located in the evaporator core, remove the lower line to core and look inside , using a needle nose pliers pull tube out. heres a picture of the orfice tube, take note of which way the tube comes out and make sure the new one goes in in the same direction, good day.
the fixed orfice is part of (crimped inside) the high pressure AC line, u must replace the line to replace the tube, the high pressure line is the smaller of the two lines from the AC compressor
the fixed orifice is located in the inlet tube to the evaporator core, this is where the small high pressure AC line from the compressor connects to the tube sticking out of the engine firewall, u will most likely need a special tool to remove it, here is a web link to the tool, don't damage the evaporator core by trying to remove the orifice tube without this if it is stuck down in the tube.
the orfice tube is locate in the line between condenser and evaporator. near the spring lock coupling. you must unbolt the cruise servo and overflow bottle, reposition them out of way and you will see the line connection..the orfice is inside line near that uniion. the ac system must be evacuated prior to removal, and recharged afterwards..
There is an orfice in the line somewhere but I am not sure just where its located .. I would imagine that orfice tube is starting to plug off and it will work sometimes and sometimes not .. that trash in the orfice tube moves around and lets freon by sometimes.. the orfice is also like a screen device and needs replaced.. thanks jerry
the orfice tube is located behind the passenger battery box.You have to either buy a new line from the dealer or buy a replacement orfice tube with metal housing from the autoparts.
