2001 Ford Focus. It is running rough and power surges.

Clean Throttle Body (both sides, not just what you can see) and MAF (mass air flow sensor) [spray and shake to dry].

Could be the Idle air valve. They get gummed up on ALL vehicles and cause idling and stalling issues. especially when cold.

2010 mini cooper s very rough idle on start up! Just had my PCV replaced issues with stalling, surging etc.. have seemed to gone away. What is causing my engine to idle rough if no code is coming up?

potential air leak at the input to the computer?

Idles roughly, then low when stopped or in park, then dies. Decreasing gas mileage. Slow to accelerate

Sometimes that's caused by a vacuum leak near the manifold area.

Sometimes air in the coolant will cause an idle problem. Air will keep the air temp sensor from sending proper info.

1997 honda civic has a rough idle once put in gear, it begins to vibrate and at times after driving it will begin to idle rough and vibrate as well. It's also caused the check engine light to come on....

Possibly a Throttle position sensor. If it surges in park and it won't idle correctly this could be a solution.

put a throttle position sensor on the throttle boby this should fix the problem!

Vacuum leaks also cause surge and idle issues. After 20 years, vacuum hoses can crack and leak. I'd check and replace any vacuum hoses that look "old".

Both those answers are good. I would check vacuum lines and clean the throttle body and IAC first. Also check the flow from the injector/s. You can look at it and see the flow. Has to be consistent.
