How To Change The PCM On A Chrysler PT Cruiser ... things wrong with my car now, but had I replaced the PCM (aka) ECM a long time ago, ...
john, this could be the bearings in the hub end of the short shaft, the brake rotor, or the brake pad. I own a 2001 and have had this problem. It was the rotor, I don't know why they treat brakes like they do but I changed both rotors, and changed the struts while I was there. Hope this helps.
Take it in & have it scanned, may only be a faulty solenoid or even brake switch may cause code & symptoms. Sooner you get it in, the cheaper it will probably be to repair it
You have disc brakes on the front. Check you local library for a Chiltons or Hayes repair manul for step-by-step instructions on how to replace pads and check your rotors for abnormal wear
you must take off the in-take housing top of engine ( plastic) 5bolts,take off bolts at throttle body3bolts,take off all hoses in rear of plastic throttle body 2 bolts, take your time not to brake plastic hoses in rear, and make sure you have gaskets inside of plastic intake once you take off. Pull intake off slow, and the spark plugs and wires are seen. You need a spark plug wrench to take out spk plugs, do one at a time. Replacement is the reverse........runjoe
At the base of the antenna, take a small crescent wrench or pliers and unscrew the antenna from the mounting bracket. Any Chrysler dealer should have a replacement antenna.
The bulb in the rear light has burned out and to replace it follow these instructions: 1) go to your owner's manual to find out the part number. You can find and purchase the replacement bulb at Target, any auto parts store and even at Walmart for under $4.00; 2) pop open the trunk door; 3) get a phillips screw driver and unscrew the 2 screws holding the rear brake light fixture to your car body; 4) as soon as you turn over the fixture you'll see where to pull out the burned out bulb and replace it with the new one(s). Good luck!
