Went to get gas the other day and got back in it and it wont start turn key and it does nothing, we tried jumping it and nothing.. had to tow it home

It won't crank? Have you tried rapping the starter with a hammer-a light tap- to see if it will work? If that works, the starter is going out and needs replaced. Alternatively, take the starter off and have it tested for free at a parts store.

hot wiring the starter fails. (good battery and charged)?
if this fails the starter is bad.
if he hot wiring works, the KEY LINE IS DEAD
if yes, key line dead, then crank car in Neutral just as the oper.guide says,,, does it crank now? if yes the park/neutral switch is bad.
on M/T the clutch switch is same deal. (bad, keyline is dead)
