I added a full can of freon to my AC system last week and things were fine with my AC until a couple of days ago, when it started blowing out hot air. When I touch the low-side tube, it's not cold or even cool, just warm. This should be indicative of a freon leak, but I'm not entirely sure. I bought a can of freon with Stop Leak in it to try and remedy the problem but I haven't put it in yet. What should I do?
Your AC system is a closed system, so the fact you have to put more Freon in, means there is definitely a leak. I would check it out with a mechanic.
Testimonial: "Thanks, but I'd rather try and avoid a mechanic shop, if possible. Every time I go to one, I always feel like they're looking for "problems" with my car that they can then rip me off on. I understand why(they have to make money), but I almost never feel like I can completely trust a mechanic."
