You should not have to remove the entire Throttle Body, the TPS should be at one end or the other of the Butterfly Valve that is controlled by the Throttle Cable. It should be held in place by 2 small bolts or screws.

SOURCE: 2003 CR-V Throttle Position Sensor replacement

Try cleaning the IAC (Idle Air Control valve.) by buying spray carb cleaner and removing the air cduct from the engine. On the fuel system side look into the hole and try to locate 2 holes on the side . With the engine running at about 1200 rpms, spray about 10 seconds worth of cleaner at the 2 holes. Turn the engine off. Let the cleaner soak. Then repeat procedure. The IAC can also be removed and cleaned if you wish.

SOURCE: on a 04 camry with 2.4 ltr engine, can I replace

I think the terms "Throttle Positon Sensor", TPS and "Throttle Body" can be misleading at least in regards to the 04 Camry.

My 04 Camry gave a diagnostic reading of P2121 for my problem "Throttle PEDAL position switch D circuit". However, we changed out the complete Throttle Body/TPS (Toyota Part #22030-0H020) that did NOT fix problem.

The 04 Camry TPS Electronic Module "Throttle Positon Sensor" is factory assembled and riveted to the side of the throttle body. The only way to service/inspect it would be to cut off or drill out the rivets. Not sure you could open the darn thing if you got it off, but that seems to be the only way Toyota sells them!!

Hopefully a new Throttle PEDAL Position Sensor (Toyota Part # 78010-33010 PEDAL ASSY, ACC)
will fix it. This is located under the dash near the accelerator pedal.

So, now I would recommend FIRST to replace the "Throttle PEDAL Positon Sensor" (it is much, much cheaper) and then the Throttle Body/TPS assembly!! Unless of course, you get a diagnostic code as you did for "faulty throttle body!!

SOURCE: 1994 chevy lumina van. It will start and idle but stalls when gas

you have a fuel pump relay that may be defective, or fuel pump or maybe the crank position sensor,a cam position sensor.the best thing is to have a scan performed with an obd1 scanner and you will know where to start the repair.

My fuel injected 1994 ford taurus has been idiling too high. whats up?

Check and replace the vacuum lines, one at a time. Clean the throttle body and mass air flow sensor if you have one.

How do i locate and replace throttle sensor

Locate your air intake. At the opposite end from where the air enters you will find your Throttle Body. There should be two sensors attached to your throttle body. The Throttle Positioning Sensor, and the Idle Air Control Valve.
On my vehicle the TPS is located at the bottom of the throttle body. The IACV is located on the side.
Since I cannot see your particular installation you will have to be the judge as to whether to remove the throttle body or not.
I have learned that it is somewhat easier to remove the Throttle Body in order to replace either of these sensors. And there will be less frustration with dropped bolts and or tools.
Also you will get the sensors installed properly and tightly, then you reinstall a single unit. Be sure to inspect the gaskets on the Throttle Body, and the IACV, replace if damaged in any way.

Transit van cutting out

Okay, no codes and cut out and low idle,

I have seen this on many types of cars and trucks, first have the tech clean the throttle body, make sure he uses a good cleaner and tooth brush, open the plate with his fingers and brush carbon build up off throttle body and plate then rinse clean with throttle body cleaner, next check and clean mass air flow sensor ,

What happens is the throttle plate when closed allows a small amount of air to pass, after time carbon build up closes the gap little more causing lower idle at stops or when gas pedal released in turn causes engine stall at times, the mass air flow sensor also can cause a problem when diodes that read air flow get dirty and allows air to enter without computer knowing and causes lean condition,

When i press accelerator engine is cutting ....

The van may just need a good tune up.

  • Replace the fuel filter
  • Replace the air filter
  • Replace the PVC valve
  • Replace Engine oil and filter
  • Replace the Spark plugs
  • Clean out the Throttle body with throttle body cleaner
  • Clean out the MAF sensor
This should help you get your van running 100% soon. If your on a tight budget, start with Cleaning the throttle body with spraying throttle body cleaner into the throttle body and cleaning up the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner, just follow the instruction on the can. Then replace the PVC valve and add fuel injector cleaner in to the gas tank. This should help your engine running better and then you can do the rest of the work to complete the tune up. Good luck and keep me posted. If you go to Auto Zone, you can get all the things you need and they can scan your van for any DTC codes that may also indicate what issues your engine has.

Throttle position sensor location for 1993 ford E250 van

the TP sensor should always be located on the throttle body, opposite the control cable. it kinda looks like a mushroom and has a 3 wire connector attached to it. held to the side of the throttle body with 2 screws.

Pics of TP sensor here: http://www.rinis-automotive.com/shopimages/products/thumbnails/TP063_FINAL.jpg

Tps switch

The Throttle Position Sensor is a potertionmeter, and is connected to the throttle shaft on the throttle body it self. The best way to notice it, is the wire harness coming from the Throttle body on one side where the shaft is.

Good luck and hope this help.

1994 chevy lumina van. It will start and idle but stalls when gas

Try replacing the throttle position sensor. I had the same problem in my truck. It would start and run for a bit but as soon as you let off of the pedal, it would die. Try it and see if it works.
