Sounds like the ignition tumbler. if it is in park and you can't turn key back its the tumbler will have to replace the ignition tumbler and you can get it re keyed to your old key so it should not be to bad

    I need to get the key removed. No info as to how I go about replacing the tumbler or removing the key

Key stuck in ignition car stuck in park key won't go to off position

There may be to much pressure on the steering wheel lock for it to go into the off position. put the parking brake on. put the shifter in neutral gently turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction of where the wheels are pointed and try turning the key to the off position. Good Luck

Cause This condition may be caused by the detent finger shifting over time. This may result in mis-alignment and binding of the shift rod on the shift position guide.
WHERE YOUR SHIFTER IS YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT APART ..MAYBE THE RUBBER BOOT IS IT THE WAY,OR THE SHIFT LOCK SELINOID WHENT BAD

make sure you are pushing in on the key while turning it to the off position

Key stuck in on position

the switch will not let you go back to off postion unless it sees you are in parkand or nutral, check that linkage and if its not that i would purchase a new key switch and replace it.

2002 oldmobile bravada ignition key is stuck in lock position

try and turn your steering wheel a little bit left or right and and the same time try and turn the key when it turns toward the dash then try and turn the key back. try and repeat this several times if neccessary. this should work. please rate this solution. thanks
