Remove the cross member, remove the torque converter bolts and back the bell housing bolts out about an inch, so the transmission will drop some. It's still difficult to get in, but it will go.

Or remove the cross member for trans and try jacking up on trans creating a larger space between the fire wall and back of the engine my take some time and usually easier with two people one to push tube down from top and one to guide from underneath good luck

That's not a bad idea. Sounds possible. I'll try that next time. I do a lot of transmissions and don't always remember to get the tube in as I go.

SOURCE: where is my transmission dipstick or fill

if it has a 4L30 in it it has no distick. the fiter is in the pan. look at the pan it has 2 drain plugs the one position at a higher level is the fill hole the lower the drain. i wouldnt suggest doin this at home unless you have a lift and a way to pressurize your fluid cause it dont flow up.

SOURCE: dipstick for transmission fluid

There is no transmission dip stick... it is a sealed system and no service is necessary. If it's leaking, you'll need to have the seal replaced.

Why does the transmission dipstick blow out of the dipstick tube?

Could be over-full trans, blocked vent tube or internal problems allowing pressure that should be doing something else to vent into pan.

My 1998 chevy Malibu won't back up. I put it in

make sure trans fluid is full before taking it in for service. check the fluid level with the transmission hot,and the engine idling in park., the fluid level should be in the cross hatch area on the dipstick. make sure not to overfill it. if its low but touching the dipstick add a half quart at a time in the dipstick tube. the fluid level will be hard to read after filling it due to residual fluid in the dipstick tube, just stick in the distick a few times, wiping it clean everytime until you get an accurate reading. if thats not it you will have to have to take it in for service.

Where does the transmission fluid go

Automatic transmission fluid goes into the same tube the transmission dipstick occupies. It's slightly larger than the oil dipstick and is commonly located further back in the engine compartment than the oil dipstick. You should make sure not to overfill the transmission fluid. Add only until it appears between the indicators on the trans. fluid dipstick.

I have a Ford Freestar 2005 with this diagnosis: P0401 EGR. I want to know if this is the cause that the minivan won't move on DRIVE or REVERSE or any other . Like it stays in NEUTRO.

P0401 is insufficent flow to the EGR,and has nothing to do with your trans trouble-check to see if the fluid it up to where it should be on your trans dipstick. If it is, the only other thing that might be happening (without costing a small fortune for a new/rebuilt trans) is the cable from the shifter to the position sensor (or the sensor itself) is bad, misaligned or broken. Otherwise, you are looking at internal trans issues.

My dipstick tube for transmission broke in half, not sure how that happens, how does it come out of the pan to replace

there is a bolt at the bell housing that holds the upper tube in position that will have to be removed to remove the upper section.the lower section just sits in the transmission body and you just have to pull it out it will have an 0 ring to seal the tube so it won`t leak trans fluid.make sure you clean area around the tube by the trans body where the tube enters.

How do I add transmission fluid to a 1991 ford f150 standard transmission?

Add your fluid through the tube that your transmission dip sick come out of. Take out your transmission dipstick(make sure it is not the oil dipstick) put a funnel in the tube and add the trans fluid. Check the fluid when the trans is warm because trans fluid expands with heat and you want to make sure you don't overfill. Add small amounts at a time.

I have a 2000 yukon xl 2500 with a 6.0 in it and i recently replaced the motor. Everything went well and is fine except the tranny dipstick will not go in. It is in location but i cant get the rubber...

is the trans dipstick tube in the trans ? are you talking about the grommet at the bottom of the dipstick tube ? that goes in the trans first then push in the tube . if your talking about the dipstick itself wont go into the tube try slightly bending the tip and push it into the tube

Where to add trans fluid on 06 silverado

Hello. I can assist you. You will need a funnel. Then remove the transmission dip stick and insert the funnel into that tube. Slowly add new fluid, checking as you go to be sure that you do not overfill. When you are satisfied that you have added enough, then remove the funnel and replace the dipstick.

Ware is the hole for the tranny fluid in a 2002 durango

Usually you just add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube, given its a automatic. Have the vehicle warmed up to operating tempature and check the trans fluid. Remove the trans dipstick and place a small funnel in the dipstick tubes opening. Add the neccessary amount of fluid and recheck. Be aware though that between adding fluid and checking the fluids, you need to allow enough time for the trans fluid to drain all the way down the dipstick tube or you will get a inaccurate reading.

Transmision problem

I would say, yes, if the transmission dipstick was up or missing, water went down the dipstick tube.
