Change my brake light it still not working what to do next for a 1996 Acura rl

testing 1,2,3 , seems to me park lockout is dead.
can you step on the brake pedal key on, and shift all gears
PRNDL?
do head lamps work key on and off
are all fuses good
is the battery dead or super weak. below 10vdc, most electronics modules in the car fail (8 to10vdc is the range of *****)most cars.
for get keys out for now ,make sure all things on the car work
keyin and keyed to on. and cranking works, in Park or neutral
if cranking is dead ,we next Jumper cable start the cars engine.
or charge the battery even load test it in the autostore or shop
you post , no tests done seems to be a dead battery main
so charge it. or jump it.

The only thing that both the brake lights and tail lights use is a ground connection. Keep in mind the warning light on the dash may be for any exterior lamp. You may need to check the sockets and grounds on all four corners of the car.

very common at the top of the brake pedal arm where the brake light switch plunger touches,there is a small metal angle there should be a small rubber stopper. what you are going to see is a hole ? IF so you can this little part from honda, or in a pinch a small nut and bolt threw the hole and adj.the brake light switch. either way you need a flash light and your going to be on your back in a tight space hope this helps ! let me know

The problem is the socket. Remove the bulb and bend the tabs in the socket so they make contact with the bulb. If this doesn't work you will have to replace the socket. A wire is broke and they usually break at or in the plug.

temp does not matter. when changing out brake components like master cylinder you need to bleed the brakes from air in the lines. you do this by having a freind pump brakes 5-7 times holding foot on brake last stroke then you open the bleeder screw on the calipers and close them. air and fluid will come out, bleed each caliper 2-3times.

I had the same problem on my 05 RL. I replace the brake switch($7.95) located at the brake pedal. problem solved.

Check the fuse associated with ur tail lights, might be burnt out. They should be on their own circuit. Good luck...

most likely, the thermostat needs to be replaced.

if that doesn't fix it, check the water pump
