What is the Harmonic balancer bolt size for 1997 Grand Prix 3.8L Vin 1 and what to do if flywheel moves during removal of HB bolt

    I'm having trouble locating the flywheel info. I have repair manua for my car but it doesn't say what to do if accidently move it a little when removing harmonic balancer.

That really depends whos the manufactures at that time, you could call a motor shop, call the dealer, go to local auto parts store, ask the clerk, i things standard 3/4 to 1 inch, metric 22-25mm

service manual, may tell, local library.

15 MM or 18 MM, Not sure which one. Use a screw driver or pry bar to keep the flywheel from turn. You have to remove the starter. Wedge it in place on the flywheel gears. I do it by myself, but two people makes it easier.

SOURCE: harmonic balancer coming out.

You say the bolt is tight? then if that is the case the balancer out ring is comming apart, the balancer needs to be replaced

You may need an impact gun. If loctite was used, you will need a gun.

yes!! you need to pull the harmonic balancer !! and the center nut i do believe...is a 22 mm and yes you will need a puller
