I would recommend you do NOT attempt any repairs here. Your vehicle has 3 warranties, 3year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper, 5year/60,000 mile warranty and a 96 month/80,000 mile emission warranty.
This is a know issue with your car. THere is a service bulletin (TC015-07) that is to correct this condition and is a covered repair under the federal emission warranty. You need to bring your car to the Toyota Dealership to be repaired.
Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

P2716 Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLT).
There are 3 things it could be.
It could be your ECM, shift solenoid valve SLT, or open or short in the circuit. I would just recommend saving the hassle and taking it to an ASE qualified mechanic.
Here is what is happening...
The linear solenoid valve (SLT) controls the transmission line pressure for smooth transmission operation based on signals from the throttle position sensor and the vehicle speed sensor.

Hello; welcome to FixYa.
The P-2716 code you speak of is a problem in the logic (programming) in the car's Computer, or ECM.
Toyota is aware of this issue, and have issued a Technical Service Bulletin regarding that DTC Code; P-2716.
If your car is under 80,000 miles, Toyota will replace the ECM for you, for FREE. The ECM has an 8-year/80,000 mile warranty.
We here at FxYa hope this helps you out.
